Chapter 7 Healing

I felt a warm sensation in my ears as the tissue began to form together. Slowly but surely I could start to hear. I kind of liked not hearing anything. It was quiet. 

Seru was standing next to me, Kakashi, Dad, and Sakura. Her green eyes looked into mine as she used her medical jutsu to heal. I heard a pop and then noise. 

Sakura was talking. Her voice was sweet. Sweet like honey. Dad was smiling up at her. Then he looked at me and grumbled. 

“Can you hear now sweetie?” Sakura asked. I held onto my ear as the popping increased. 

“Yea. I’m glad I can hear now.” I looked at Seru. 

“Excuse me but I have to go.” Dad said. “Kakashi, with me.” The Copy Ninja nodded and looked at me. Even behind his face mask I could see him smile. 

“Wow, what a day.” Sakura breathed. She sat on the edge of the bed and sighed. Seru sat next to her and hugged her.

“I missed you mom.” He whispered.

“Oh honey. I’ve missed you to. Its glad to have you and your father back. Camella can be a handful now a days with boys and all.”

“How’s her training?”

“Its getting better. She’s a fast learner. Soon she’ll be as strong as Lady Tsunade. Was anyone else injured?”

“Nyen.” I said.

“Oh, yes. I’ll get to her right now. I’ll see you after the test results, Seru. You should walk Kushina down there with you. Medical Jutsu can have a side effect.”

“Yes mom.” He smiled. 

He sat at the end of the bed. Quiet. Content. He looked happy. 

“Well we should probably get going.” My stomach growled. I stopped and Seru looked at me. He laughed.

“I’ll take you to Ichiraku’s like I promised.” I blushed. He grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the bed. “Just let me know when you get dizzy and we’ll stop.” 

“What about Nyen? I hate to leave her alone.”

“Mom’s got it taken care of. Let’s just go. Just the two of us. Like old times.” I smiled at that memory. 

The blazing sun still shone in the cloudy sky. It reminded me of my Dad somehow. I didn’t know how. He was always there, watching over me, but he was so far away. I never felt his warm rays. I never felt his love. 

I looked at the ground and instantly became dizzy. I grabbed onto Seru’s shoulder for balance. He grabbed my arm and steadied me.

“You okay?”

“Yea. Just fine.” He didn’t believe me. He could see my tears brimming in my eyes. 

“Tell me.” I looked into his black eyes. 

“Do you ever feel like you know someone but they never love you? They give you the feeling of having someone there but they never show you what its like to be loved. My Dad.” Tears spilled down my cheeks. 

“He just wants to protect you and you end up getting your ears split. That’s what father’s do. Especially Naruto. My dad told him about your mom, how she died. He made a vow when you were born to protect you with everything, even if it cost him his life.”

“My Dad never told me anything about Mom. Nothing. How did she die?”

“You were a year old. She was out on a mission with your father when she got attacked. Naruto tried everything to save her but she died in his arms. I’m sorry.”

“No. Its fine. Let’s just go eat now.”

There was many things I never knew about Naruto’s past. Who he was, what he did. He kept many things from me, to protect me. I wanted to know those answers. 

It wasn’t worth it. Nothing was anymore.
