I could tell he was confused. I was confused too. I hated him. I hated myself. His lips were soft. I withdrew the kiss as I pushed myself away from him. I wiped my mouth with my sleeve.

"Kushina? Why?" Seru asked.

"No reason. I have forgiven you."

"But... I hurt you. That was unreasonable for that."

I looked at Seru as tears glistened in my eyes. "You did hurt me but I have come to realize it was my own fault. My fault for hurting you. I shouldn't have said those things to you, Seru. Knowing I was going to hurt you."

I could see him smile. I hadn't kissed him before. It was strange. My lips were numb. "I'm giving you another chance. This time don't screw up." I whirled around and walked out of his house. I left no trace of my being as I walked into the final arena. I had been there once before. It seemed years ago. The place was surrounded with high walls. The far corner had seating for the Hokage and for spectators, the losers of the Chunin Exams.

Nyen was standing in the center rubbing the ground of the arena between her fingers and so was Killian. I smiled at them. Nyen stood up and frowned.

"Kushina? Is something wrong? Your eyes are red?" She questioned.

"No. Nothing is wrong. I just got dirt in my eyes that's all." I gave her a reassuring smile, hoping she would buy it. Standing close to us were the other victors of the previous battles. They all looked tough. Strong. I sighed.

I felt my heart. I felt dead inside and out. I didn't feel human. My life was falling apart. I was pretending to be in love with someone to keep the only one I love left alive. This would kill me sooner or later. I had to win this. For him. I looked up into the spectators to see Seru standing there. His black eyes staring into my soul. No longer filled with hate but with love. I hoped that this was the right thing to do.

Naruto soon appeared. The bags under his eyes had seemed to grow a deeper purple. I could feel them staring down at me. I knew I was doing the right thing. He nodded down at us and gave a speech declaring what would happen if the last person was still standing.

"Everyone standing in the arena is already a Chunin. By my demands the battles will commence. The winner will automatically become a Jonin. I have picked the fighters. First up we have Killian Nara verses Teburga Winera."

I looked over at Killian and saw his opponent. He was a tall muscular man with a mask covering his face. I worried about Killian.

"You'll do fine Killian." I say with a smile. I pat him on the shoulder and give him a thumbs up. Nyen repeated my saying and slapped him on the back. Killian looked worried. "You can do it. I believe in you." Those words I never heard from my dad.

Killian breathed a heavy breath and turned around to face his attacker. Nyen and I jumped to out designated spots in the spectator section. We sat in the front. I gripped a long pole that kept us from falling into the stadium with cold fingers.

The arena reminded me of a colloseum. The one that Iruka-sensei would tell us about during class. It was used to keep people out and also provide a wall. People would face off against each other until one of them died. I didn't want to be a spectator. I didn't want to see a bloodbath.

Killian scrunched his hands up. His head lowered. Teburga. He was from the Stone Village. I knew he could do it.

Naruto yelled, "Begin!" Immediately Teburga had managed to weave his signs and bringing rocks into the air. Giant boulders from the ground. Killian weaved his signs and threw his shadow's at Teburga to make him stumble. The rocks stopped Killian and a number of them flew towards Killian. His face grew scared. His eyes got wider. Everything seemed to slow.

"KILLIAN!" I roared.

Rocks, debris, smoke. I coughed as I looked out into the arena. Killian lay on the ground, motionless. His head bleeding and his clothes torn.

Teburga had won. Anger rose inside me. "Dad! Make me fight!" I yelled at Naruto as I bit my lip to stop from crying. I didn't even get a yes. I jumped out into the arena and raced towards Killian. I craddled his head in my lap as I couldn't stop the tears.

His lips were cracked as he spoke. "Kushina. Did I win?"

"Of course." I smiled as I wiped the tears away. I heard footsteps and looked up to see Sakura. Temari ran behind her with Shikamaru in tow.

"Killian!" Temari cried. Sakura fell to the ground next to me as she examined the broken body of Killian.

"Shikamaru! Take him to the hospital immediately!" Sakura cried. He did as he was told and grabbed the body of Killian and rushed towards the hospital.

Her green eyes stared into mine. "I'm sorry, Kushina. What my son did-"

"No, its fine. Don't worry about it. You have someone else to take care of now. Go." Sakura blinked back tears as she nodded and ran out of the arena.

I looked at my opponent and screamed. "Begin!" Naruto yelled.

I charged. I forgot. I seeked revenge.

"FOR KILLIAN!" I roared.
