Chapter 22 Nyen vs Mel Akamichi

I didn't want it to happen. The battle's had begun. I grew wary. Maybe it was the time that my loved one would die. I still hadn't forgotten the propechy. When would it happen? I didn't know. Now I just had to focus on something else, the Chunin Exams. They moved us into the training room of the Hokage building. It had an upper deck for spectators and other ninja. At the farthest end of the facility was a board with two spaces. It would randomly pick two ninja and pair them together to fight. I didn't think it was random at all. I tried to keep my legs from shaking in nervousness. The people who survived the second test were gruff and hard. They ment business. No weaklings left. Except me. 

I gulped as the board began to spin. Two names appeared. I closed my eyes and people oohed. I opened them again to see Nyen's name and some other person I didn't know. My legs shaked harder. I looked at the name closer. I had seen it before. Mel Akamichi. I saw her standing already down on the arena. She had long spiky blond hair. She wasn't as fat as her father but she had the beauty of her mother. The emblem of her clan rested on her armored chest plate. She looked more like her father than her mother. I wondered about her  justu. I had often seen it but it was years ago. 

I looked over at Nyen to see her smiling instead of wallowing in fear. She gave me a bright smile and slapped me on the back. "Not to worry! I've got this in the bag!" She yelped. 

I stared hopelessly as she ran through the crowd and down the stairs to meet her opponent with her head high. I wondered how she could be so hopefull in this dire situation. I tried to believe her. She was a friend. I had too. I raced over the ledge and peered down with hopefull eyes. 

Naruto was down there as he nodded at both the attackers. He raised his arm high and suddenly slammed it down on the ground. With a flash he disappeared. Instantly I saw Nyen slamming her fingers into different signals. Dog, Cat, Bird, Horse, and finally Crane. Mel tried to keep up with her and slammed her fists together and suddenly grew into a giant ball. 

Nyen raised her hands up as blood dripped from her fingers. She slammed them on the ground and instantly three figures emerged from the ground dripping earth. They bore no eyes, no mouth, only hands and feet. They both carried weapons in their hands but one surprised me. It wore a giant gourd strapped on its back. Sand suddenly flowed out from its back. It formed a giant cloud over its head and charged towards the rolling mass. It covered Mel in a heap of earth and dust and stopped her in midtracks. The other two charged towards the covered heap and began to stab through the earth and punching it. The ball soon went slack as Mel went back to her original size, unconcious. 

Nyen had won over a landslide. I felt bad about Mel loosing but also proud to see Nyen without even a drop of sweat on her forehead. The worry was gone in an instant. Only hope soared through me. If Nyen could do it, I definetly could!
