Set 1 started like a battlefield.

From the very first serve, ramdam na agad namin kung gaano kahanda ang Itachi Arrows. Their rotations were clean, their floor defense almost impossible to break, and every attack carried enough force to shake the court itself. They moved with terrifying precision—parang bawat galaw nila napagpraktisan nang libong beses.

And at the center of it all was Quinn. Calm. Sharp. Deadly. Her floor defense remained terrifyingly precise, reading our attacks before we could even fully execute them. Quinn moved like she already knew where the ball would land seconds ahead of everyone else, diving for impossible receives and keeping rallies alive no matter how hard we tried to put the ball down. Every save she made shifted the momentum back to the Itachi Arrows, making it harder and harder for us to score cleanly.

And despite the Thrill Seekers fighting through a brutal deuce battle—the Itachi Arrows still stole Set 1 from us.

By Set 2, nagsimula nang bumigat ang atmosphere inside the gym. The moment our coach called timeout, the loud buzzer echoed across the arena, cutting through the endless noise of the crowd.

The scoreboard flashed overhead.

Itachi Arrows — 7
Thrill Seekers — 3

For the first time that night, the audience grew restless. Kanina lang halos mabingi kami sa sigawan ng fans, but now whispers slowly replaced the cheers. Some supporters looked nervous while others kept glancing toward our bench like they were waiting for someone to save the game.

Because honestly? We were struggling. Badly.

I quietly exhaled before standing from my seat. That single movement alone caused several people nearest to our bench to freeze.

"...Wait."

"No way."

"Tumayo si Ez—"

Parang domino effect ang nangyari. One by one, people started noticing. Then suddenly, the entire arena exploded.

"EZ?!"

"BABALIK NA SIYA!"

"OH MY GOD!"

"CAPTAIN!"

"THRILL SEEKERS!"

The scream was deafening. Literal na natabunan maging tunog ng drums at bandang nasa kabilang bleachers. Fans immediately stood from their seats while dozens of phones shot into the air, flashes bursting everywhere as realization spread throughout the gym.

After years of hiatus—I was finally returning to an official game. Even the Itachi Arrows looked visibly stunned. Well, except Quinn.

"Gagi..." bulong ni Jai habang napapailing. "Parang concert entrance."
