"Can I come in?"

This is really a surprise. 

Alex is here. I thought she's still out of the country. "Alex. Yes... sure." Iginiya ko sya papuntang living area. She gave me the box of cake she's carrying then she sat on my favorite spot. "Juice or something?"

"Water." She smiled.

Kumuha ako agad ng tubig and gave it to her. I also gave her a slice of the cake she brought. Naupo ako sa tapat nya. I really wonder what brought her here. This is unusual. I didn't even have imagined  that she knows my place.

"So... what's up?" I asked her.

She sipped and inilapag ang glass of water then said, "I hope you don't mind but I really need help."

"About...?" 

"Dylan."

"What about him?"

"May iba ba si Dylan?" Luh. Ano ba tong tanong ni Alex saken.

"Iba? What made you think?"

"Kasi Althea, bestfriend mo kasi sya and I know na marami kang alam about him. Lately kasi napapansin ko na he's not into me. He seldom pays attention. Babae tayo diba? Naiintindihan mo naman yung women's instinct, right?"

"Of course. Yes, Alex... I understand very well. But to set things straight, I don't think may 'iba' ang kaibigan ko. You're always together and alam mo yung whereabouts nya, nagdududa ka parin sa kanya?"

She paused for awhile and stared at me. Then she managed to talk, "I don't know what's with me but I'm scared all of a sudden. I'm sorry pati ikaw nadadamay tuloy sa kapraningan ko."

"Ok lang Alex."

"He loves me." She said reassuringly. 

"He does." I smiled at her.

Tumayo na sya. "I really am sorry for disturbing you. I just thought I needed a breather. Thank you, Althea."

"Wala yun, Alex. Thanks for dropping by and for the cake rin."

Bumeso sya saken before she walked out the door.

Napaupo ako again and napaisip sa short conversation namin ni Alex. Women's instinct.

My phone rings and that snap me back to reality.

Sino kaya to?

I look at the screen. Oh this jerk.

"Hoy mokong ka! Nambababae ka ba?"

"Manner, Ja. Manner. Hindi na uso ang 'hello' sayo? Tsaka ano bang tanong yan ha?"

I paused. Naisip ko baka ang oa ko lang. I exhaled.

"Sorry. Forget that."

"O-kay?"

"Ba't ka napatawag?"

"Magpapatulong sana ako sayo. I'm planning to surprise Alex. Date... ganun."

"Ganun? Kaya mo na yan. Bat kelangan na ako pa?"

Dammit. May bitterness ba sa remarks ko?

"Ja, you're the best event organizer that I know and you're my bestfriend. I'm paying anyway."

"Di mo naman kasi sinabi muna na trabaho pala to. Okay fine."
