Althea's POV
"How can I unlove you?"
"How can I unlove you?"
"How can I unlove you?"
Kanina pa ako nakalayo sa kubo kung san ko iniwan si Dylan to talk to this person in the other line pero yung tanong nya parin na yun ang naririnig ko.
Ano ba Althea umayos ka nga! Saway ko sa sarili ko.
"Althea? Are you still there?"
That snapped me back to reality.
"Ugh, sorry I zoned out."
"I understand you're on a vacation. I'm sorry to have called. Are you alright? Pde naman akong tumawag nalang ulit."
"No. No. I'm... fine really. Medyo bored nga ako eh kaya mag-usap na muna tayo. How's your chemo going?"
"Painful? ...but don't worry it's bearable. I need to get well, right? I have a wedding to catch up."
"What?! Ayan na naman tayo sa wedding wedding mo."
"So how are you and Dylan? I've heard from Lovell that you got yourself a boyfriend na. Is he worth it? Kelangan ko talaga ma-meet yang si Dylan soon. He must be good ha."
"Ano ka ba Christian. It's not Dylan, okay? It's someone else. He's name is Calyx and he's also with us here in Zambales."
"What?! Fuck. Why?! Panung hindi si Dylan?!"
"Watch your language old friend."
"Sorry. But it's.. unbelievable! Or di ko lang talaga matanggap na hindi si Dylan. I thought that Dylan is your end game. I'm hurt, Althea. I'm a fan and now you just broke my heart."
"Ang OA mo Christian! Epekto na rin ba yan ng chemotherapy?"
Tumawa si Christian. Natuwa naman ako na marinig yung tawa nya. Been a while...
"Are you happy?" There's seriousness in his tone.
"I am."
"Good. Yan naman ang importante. Yan ang gusto kong marinig. I'm happy that you're happy."
"Thank you, Christian. It means a lot."
"You're welcome. So, panu? Matutulog na ako ha? I just called to let you know that I am fine. Not perfectly fine but I'm doing my best to gain my old healthy self."
"Don't make me cry Christian. Alright. You get yourself enough rest and drift to sleep now. Thanks for calling. See you soon!"
I smiled as I pressed end. I said a little prayer for him.

The night sky is at its brightest and what else can be the best thing to do? Camp out and a good night swim of course!
I lovingly watched my best friend and her lover having fun in the sea. Dane teaching B to float. I remembered how she'd been an eager girl learning how to do it. Now she has somebody else to hold on to. I thank Dane for coming along and for converting my best friend into someone I've always wished her to be. Dane is her karma. A good one this time.
