Chapter 13
"What the fuck is happening to you, Samuel?" Jared asked Sam as he entered their usual place. He quickly sat on the couch and grabbed the magazine on the table. His other fraternity members were just merely observing his actions.
"The usual," Kibit-balikat niyang sagot dito. Alam niyang kababalik lang kasi nito doon sa university. Jared went to Japan together with his father for their business. Jared was the heir of his family's businesses.
"Usual?" Jared was obviously pissed off. "You beaten up, Max, Sam. And it's because of Vanessa Velasco?" His friend incredulously said. Katabi nito si Max na may band-aid na sa mukha dahil sa sugat na natamo nito dahil sa bugbog niya. Hindi naman kasi ito masyadong napuruhan, hindi gaya ng ginawa niya kay Mateo Severino.
"Yeah, are you fucked-up already, dude?" Si Max naman ang nagsalita, "Tangina, sumasakit pa panga ko dahil sayo."
"I thought you want to destroy her, Sam? Then why the hell did you stop me?" Tanong ni Max sa kanya. Halata talaga sa mga ito na hindi ito sang-ayon sa mga ginagawa niya—especially helping Vanessa.
"By the way, about our annual fraternity party later," Sam diverted the topic instead, "I can't come. May aattendan akong board meeting sa isa sa company ni Mommy. My presence is needed there."
Ngayong araw kasi, 5th anniversary ng fraternity. And what they usually do, all of them celebrate it. Doing random fun things and shits. Ginagawa nila ang lahat para lang maenjoy nilang lahat ang selebrasyon ng anniversary. They celebrate in a way that would pleasure them all—either violently or ruthlessly. They have the money and power, so why not?
"We will be having an open party, Sam. We'll use the whole campus." Jared suddenly said. Ito kasi ang mag-oorganize ng celebration nila sa taon na iyon.
"Yeah, sure."

"Vannie, are you sure na ayaw mo kong samahan ka sa loob?" Tanong ni Adrian kay Vanessa nang dumating na sila sa university. Hinatid kasi siya nito doon para sa evening anniversary party ng Alpha Gamma Phi. "Baka mapano ka lang." Adrian was obviously worried.
And as what she has observed right now, halatang nagsimula na ang party. They can already hear the noises coming from the inside.
"Adrian, I'll be okay. Don't worry. Saka kakabalik mo pa lang sa ospital—"
"Ms. Velasco," Napatigil naman silang dalawa nang may nagsalita. It was no other than, Jared Montessor, another fraternity member.
"Vannie—"
"Back off Villaflor," Biglang sabi naman sa kanila ni Jared—looking daggers at her boyfriend, "Kung ayaw mong mapunta na naman sa ospital, get the fuck out." The man harshly said, "Let's go, Velasco."
Napabuntong-hininga na lang si Vannie. Kung pwede lang sana niya itong sipain sa mga oras na iyon, "Adrian, sige na. I'll just text you." Aniya saka sumama kay Jared papunta sa loob ng campus.
She's really getting frustrated with their fraternity. Hindi niya alam kung sadyang may topak talaga ang mga miyembro nito. And what makes it more frustrating is that—the fraternity invited her to attend the party—compulsory.
"Jason, sinong nagbigay nito?" Tanong ni Vannie kay Jason na kasamahan niya sa council nang may mapansin siyang isang maliit na puting envelope sa table niya sa council room.
Binuksan naman niya ang laman ng envelope at binasa.
