- Hayden's POV -
Contemporary wasn't my strongest class. In classical everything comes naturally and I don't even have to try, but here I have to work twice as hard to get even one move correct.
George lined the class up and asked us our names, ages and aspirations in life.
When he came to me I smiled widely and shook his hand.
"I'm Hayden and I'm 16 years old. I'm going to be a professional dancer until I can no longer walk" I said surely. Some of my classmates stared at me with a shocked expression. George nodded his head.
"I'm impressed by your attitude Hayden" He said before moving onto the person next to me.
After getting to know the class we were spread out across the room, I began to feel a bit nervous.
"I'm going to shout out random contemporary ballet positions and I want you to do them for me, alright?" George asked at the front of the dance studio. Everybody nodded.
There were only two girls from my classical class who were in this class too. Angry Alison and the small blonde girl I met this morning.
"Arabesque!" George shouted, I looked around at everybody else quickly. Alison was first to get the position. She stood up straight and raised her right leg behind her left.
I did the same quickly then took a deep breath, I really need to learn contemporary or I'm going to fail.
"Coupé!" George shouted out again, I knew this one.
"Good Hayden!" He shouted to the back of the room where I stood, I smiled. Alison looked back at me with a disgusted look on her face, I gave her a devilish look back then focused on George.
After another 30 minutes of practising and the class was finally over.
"Thank you for that great class George" Alison said with the most innocent smile painted across her face.
She walked out of the dance studio and stared at me.
"What?" Alison shouted.
"Is that what you're going to do all year? Suck up to all the teachers?" I asked while laughing, she rolled her eyes.
"I don't need to. I'll be the best in the year and they'll love me" She said angrily while storming off.
"Keep dreaming hunny! It'll be me who they love!" I shouted with a smile on my face.
My phone beeped and it was the lads from my football team, they were asking me to meet them at the pitch which wasn't far from the academy.
I went back to my dorm room and left my bags in before going to the football pitch.
Daniel is my best friend, I have known him since we were both kids and he is also in the team.
"Here comes ballet boy!!" Daniel and the others shouted before kicking the ball to me, I rolled my eyes and laughed.
"How was your first day at being a girl??" Daniel asked while throwing his arm around me.
"It was really good actually" I said with a smile. I'm used to them making fun of me so I just ignore it now.
"Who's up for a game!!?" One of the boys shouted, we all cheered and ran onto the pitch.
