- Hayden's POV -
It was almost time for dinner, me and Ella were still outside looking for Kim.
"This is hopeless, we are never going to find her" Ella said before getting upset, I began to cry with her because I thought we had definitely lost Kim.
"I'm not stopping until I find her" I sobbed while looking around. We were in the middle of town and it was very busy. There were lots of people coming home from work as it was slowly approaching 5:00pm.
Ella's phone beeped and it was a message from Alison.
"Dinner is ready soon, where are you guys? I'm worried"
I looked at the message and began to laugh loudly, Ella stared at me.
"Alison? Caring? That's funny!" I shouted while trying to lighten the mood. I failed.
"I'm going home Hayden" Ella said with an expressionless face, she looked drained.
"I'm not. I'm going to keep looking"
"No! We have been out for over six hours this is ridiculous!!" Ella shouted angrily, people walking passed us gave her evil looks.
"I don't care. I'll see you later" I huffed before storming off into the town again.
I sat at the fountain in the middle of town with some chips and a drink, if I'm going to keep searching I have to get my energy up.
Suddenly the academy's number appeared on my phone screen, why is the academy calling me?
"Hello?" I answered.
"Cody? Is that you?" Mr Hastings asked on the other end.
"Yes it's me hello Mr Hastings" I said while stuffing my face with salty chips.
"Where are you? I'm going to have to ask you to come back to the boarding house immediately, we are phoning the police and they will find Kim Prescott" Mr Hastings explained while I shook my head quickly.
"No no no, I know Kim and I know where she would be. The police never do anything right" I said.
"Hayden we are also responsible for you, so if something was to happen to you then we would-"
I hung up and threw my bag of chips angrily, fuck everybody!
I looked around at the 'tourist attractions' sign and saw a river that flew through a forest, it looked really pretty and peaceful.
"Hey you! Pick these up now or you'll be fined!" Someone shouted behind me, without looking back I sprinted towards the direction of the forest park with the pretty river. After a few minutes of dodging traffic while running across roads and bumping into strangers I finally made it to the forest park.
The entrance was creepy and silent, all I could hear was the chirping of birds and rustling of the trees. There was a post with arrows saying 'ice cream shop' and 'river'. I headed in the direction of the river to relax and de-stress me. It seemed like a good idea, then I could get back to searching for Kim.
There was no body around at all and it was beginning to get dark, I used my phone as a torch while looking for the river.. Then suddenly I could hear it flowing.
I ran quickly around the corner as it got louder, then I found myself standing on a bridge.
I looked up and saw somebody sitting on the edge of the bridge, looking down at the water.
Wait a minute..
"Kim?"
