- Ella's POV -
The dance studio was silent as I tip toed to the middle of the room. I looked up at the judges and smiled widely, one of them grinned back.
"Are you ready to begin, number 69?" The woman in the posh suit said.
"Yes thank you" I said before raising my head high and getting into first position.
There are a lot of things you need to do before beginning your performance, it doesn't take long to get them right but you must always remember to complete them.
I thought for a moment of what I must do..
• Chin up slightly
• Shoulders down
• Rib cage pulled up
• Back straight
• Turn your feet out from the hip
• Keep your legs straightI took a breath and smiled, the music began to play.
It was a jazzy type of piano which suited the dance, I waited for my cue. It started of slow which lead me to bend my knees and bring my body lower but going slowly with the rhythm of the piano. I ran into the middle stretching out my arms backwards and my head to the ceiling.
There were mirrors all around the studio so it was hard not to catch a glimpse of myself and fall out of focus.
I began to pirouette slowly then built it up faster and faster. I could see the others outside watching, even Cody was looking and not playing angry birds.
I stopped without a fault and glided to the other side of the room where I did a few small jumps and a simple turn. I ran back into the middle and-
"Stop! Stop!" The posh lady shouted, the music stopped and I turned to face them in confusion.
"Where did you learn to pirouette like that?" She asked, her eyes lit up.
"I learnt myself" I said with a smile.
"Most newbies learn pirouettes in the middle of first year and you're already one step ahead. Well done" She said, I bowed slightly and skipped out the door.
"Hey well done that was great" Cody said before putting his huge hand on my shoulder. I thanked him.
"Number 70!"
"Good luck Cody!" I shouted as he ran into the studio. I decided to watch Cody's audition to see if it was good or not. I sat up at the window with a smile on my face, I'm quite proud of myself.
He began at first position but then took off around the studio, using all types of steps and positions. Everybody watching from the outside were shocked at how good he was.. So was I.
He finished and some girls standing behind me began to clap and cheer, oh my god.
Cody left the dance studio and lots of girls crowded around him telling him how amazing he did. I rolled my eyes and watched.
He made his way over to where I was standing.
"Bethany was wrong, you are not shit" I said before laughing.
"Thanks little one" Cody said as he got his phone out and continued to play angry birds. This is going to be an interesting year.. If I get in that is.
