~ 25th Of February, Seven months before the Academy's first semester began ~

- Kim's POV -

I was never interested in school, I always failed every class. English was my weakest class as I had trouble spelling.. and talking.

The classroom was filled with the usual students that I see everyday, messing around and having a laugh with their friendship groups. Then there was me, hiding behind my text books in the corner of the room.

"It's presentation time class!" Miss Donald shouted as she tapped on her desk, everyone cheered and silenced at once. For this presentation we had to stand at the front of the class and tell everybody something amazing that has happened in our life that has impacted us in a good way.. I had no idea what this meant.

The class went on for another hour and almost everyone had got their turn at speaking, they spoke about their family members beating illnesses, friends travelling the world to help others, hobbies that make them happy and many other interesting topics.

"That was great everyone! I'm proud of you all" Miss Donald said with a smile, Madeline put her hand up and everyone looked over at her.

"Yes?" Miss Donald asked, she looked around the room then glanced over at me with an evil smile.

"Everybody's presentations were great but.. why didn't Kim get a turn?" Madeline asked while tilting her head. She knows why I can't and so does the whole class, but they all decide to laugh and ask anyway.

Miss Donald looked over at me as the class pointed at me in shame and roared with laughter, I lowered my head and then the bell rang.

"Thanks everyone" Miss Donald muttered before sitting down at her table and probably wiping the last few minutes of class from her mind. I grabbed my bag and ran out the classroom door before anyone else, Madeline followed after me with her little posse of bitches.

"Yeah go cut yourself some more Kim!!" She shouted down the corridor as her friends giggled. I ran quickly and accidentally bumped into a guy which caused him to drop all of his work.

"Oi you! Pick up all my work you stupid girl!" He shouted angrily, his friends crowded around me as I picked up all the pages and handed them to him. There were tears in my eyes and they were blurring my vision.

I walked on and made my way to the janitor bathrooms where nobody goes, time to do as Madeline instructed.

I sat down on the cold concrete floor and sighed loudly before taking out my blades, then my phone vibrated loudly.

"H-Hello?" I stuttered while answering.

"Hi Dear! It's mummy" Mum said, I smiled slightly.

"Me and your father are off to Paris for a month, your babysitter is in the house! Bye!" She shouted before hanging up, oh.

Looks like I'm going to have a field trip with bloody wrists and broken dreams.

The only good thing in my life was ballet and I practised everyday. I have my own studio in the basement of our house, or should I say my house because my parents are never in the same country as me.

I began to look at some pointe shoes online on my phone because I remembered I needed a new pair until an ad popped up on the screen.

"Auditions for the Academy School Of Dance, 20th of August - 5th of September"

That looks interesting.. I saved the website link then threw my phone in my bag before grabbing my blades again, Where was I?

"Life is.. g-great" I whispered to myself before lying down on the cold janitor bathroom floor.
