"Hailey!" As I was putting my books away at the end of the day someone calls me from my right.
"Hey Mackenzie" I greet her.
"So how are you and Calum?"
"I'm sorry what?" Was it just me or did she say Calum. Does she not know about me and Luke yet..? Oh this is going to be awkward.
"I was at that party too Hailey" she winks at me.
"So?" I was confused.
"I saw you getting Calum out his fight and going upstairs with him. Did anything happen between you two because after he came back down he didn't hook up with any other girl which is really weird 'cause" she giggles. "I mean he's Calum"
"I only took him upstairs to fix his cuts, nothing else happened. Nothing would ever happen between us, we're just friends" I clarify.
"Friends?" she raised an eyebrow. "Then why didn't he hook up with anyone else afterwards?"
I shrug. "Maybe he had a change of heart?"
She laughs. "Doubt it"
After a few seconds of silence I turn towards her. "Mackenzie I have something to tell you. I am so so sorry but-"
"Hey" Right then, Luke kisses me on the cheek and wraps his arms around my waist. Good timing Luke... I look up at him and smile forgetting that Mackenzie was right in front of us for a second. I look back at Mackenzie's face and she had the most envious face I've ever seen.
"Um..Mackenzie I'm sorry I was just about to tell you"
She clears her throat and stands up straight. "It's whatever anyway Hailey, it's ok. I'm over it. Good to know she was the girl you dumped me for" She was looking straight at Luke now. "Of course who wouldn't want to be with Hailey, she's little miss perfect. I'm so happy for you two, hope you two get married" She shuts her locker and stomps past us angrily.
Luke and I just stay frozen for a few seconds after what just happened.
"Well, she took it better than I thought" Luke says breaking the silence.

"Semi Formal tickets are now on sale from today until the 13th. Make sure you don't miss out on a magical 'Night in Paris' on the 14th. And that's how all the announcements today, have a great day"
The bell rings signalling the end of first period. I always hated how our announcements are after first period but it has some advantages. I guess since 30% of the school always comes 20 minutes after first period starts it gives everyone a chance to listen.
"Hey hey Hailey" Luke sings.
"Save the singing for music class Hemmings" I intertwine my hands with his and we make our way out of the classroom.
"I hate how Mr. Thompson moved me all the way across the classroom"
"Well maybe you shouldn't have talked so much during his lesson Luke"
"It's not my fault, you're just so much fun to talk to" he says and I giggle. "So are we going to semi?" Luke asks me.
"Oh Luke Luke Luke. You don't go to Semi. You go to After Semi. That's where all the action's at"
"What's After Semi?" he asks.
"Basically like semi but with less teachers and formal wear and more drinks" I explain.
