0.3 "Oh Ya I'm Definitely Going For Him"

Friday September 19 - morning

I quickly make my way to my locker after just arriving to school 2 minutes before the first period bell rings.

"Hey hey you" Mackenzie comes up behind me to get to her own locker.

"Oh hey Mackenzie, did you just get here too?"

"Yep I accidentally overslept. Oops?"

I laugh. "Well sleep is way more important anyway". The bell rings signalling the start of first period. "Oh shoot I'll talk to you later Kenzie"

"Bye Hailey"

I end up running to get to class and when I arrive, I see principal Williams standing at the front of the class with a tall boy with blonde hair.

"Sorry I'm late Mr. Thompson" I apologize.

"Oh Hailey" Mrs. Williams says. "glad you can join us. I'd like you to meet-" the blonde boy turns his attention from the class to me.

"Luke?" I was so shocked.

"Oreo girl?" He looked surprised and confused too.

"Um...Hailey actually" I corrected him.

"Oh you two know each other?" Mr. Thompson asked.

"Uh-"

"Great so you can show him around the school?"

I looked over to Luke and smiled. "It'd be my pleasure".

Lunch

"I can't believe you ended up being Ashton's best friend that moved here from Australia. How did I not figure that out when you told me you arrived from Australia last night to stay with your best friend". I exclaimed. We were walking to the cafeteria together for lunch to meet with the rest of my friends.

"I-" his phone buzzed. "Oh Ash just texted me to meet him at the front of the cafeteria"

"Just text him that'll you'll meet him at his regular table"

"But I don't know where his regular table is"

"Ah you see that is why you have me to guide your path to the almighty lunch seats of Ashton Irwin" we both laugh and sit down waiting for the two other people. We see Ashton running through the cafeteria doors to get to our table.

"Oh Hailey, you already met Luke?" He sounded disappointed.

"Yeah I actually met him last night when I went to go buy Oreo cookies" I explain.

"Oh wow" he sits down. "Sucks, I wanted to be the first one to introduce you to Luke". 

"Who the hell are you and why are you sitting at our table?" Juliet asks Luke, joining us.

"Oh um I'm-" Luke begins

"NO" Ashton interrupts. "Luke this is Juliet, Juliet this is Luke. There, I'm happy now"

I smile, Ashton always makes me in a happier mood. "So how do you like the school so far Luke?"

"It's much bigger than my old school. And the people here are better too" Luke says shyly. I look up from my lunch to face Luke but he looked away the second I caught his eye.

"Yeah. Many better people as in hot girls" Ashton ogles Adrianna when she walks past our table.

"You're never going to get her Ashton" Juliet mutters

"Haha shut up Juliet" Ashton mutters back still staring at Adrianna, not necessarily the back of her head but you know what I mean.

She was walking towards the "popular" table but as Juliet calls it, the "fuckboys and hoes" table. Guess who else sits at that table, yep the one and only Calum Hood. I watch Adrianna make her way towards Calum to sit on his lap, him allowing her to and for some reason, I couldn't tear my eyes away from them.

After school

I grabbed all of my homework for tonight from my locker and walked towards the front of the school to meet Ashton, Luke and Juliet. When I walk outside, I see that I came out a bit too early so I decide to just play a game on my phone to pass some time.

"Hailey, hey"

I looked up from my screen to see Mackenzie standing right in front of me.

"Hey, how was your day?"

"Same old. Did you see that new kid, Luke? He's so hot"

I laugh. "Ya he's really sweet"

"I'd love to get with him" she blurted out.

"Really?" maybe I can try setting those two up.

"Oh ya, I'm definitely going for him"

Mackenzie is so beautiful and kind and always ends up getting what she wants. I guess some people are just luckier than others.

"Well we're all hanging out at Ashton's place today, I can ask him if you can come with."

"Are you sure? I barely know Ashton and Juliet"

"They'll be fine with it. Speaking of Ashton" I see Ashton coming out the front doors. "Wait here". I make myself towards Ashton and give him a hug when I go up to him. "Hey Ash, I have a question"

"Ask away" he says.

"How well do you know Mackenzie?"

"Who's that?"

"You know that blonde girl who's locker's beside mine?"

"Oh her, she's hot"

"Ya well she's kind of interested in Luke. Is there any chance she can come hang out with us after school?"

"I don't know Hails, I don't even know her"

"Pleaseeee Ashton" I give him my best puppy face.

He groans. "Fine Hailey only because your puppy face is so damn cute"

"Yay you're the best Ashton" I give him a kiss on the cheek and make my way back to Mackenzie.

"So you and that Ash kid?" I turn around to see Calum standing right behind me.

"No we're just best friends, always have, always will be" I explain.

"Girls and guys can never be just best friends. Obviously one of you like each other"

"Well, just like always, you're wrong. We've been friends for 9 years and we've never had feelings for each other"

"So you just kiss all of your friends? 'Cause then I'm willing to be your friend" he says cheekily.

"He and I just have a really close friendship" ignoring his last comment even though it did give me a few butterflies. "Whatever Calum, a lot of people think there's something between me and him but there isn't. Does Mr. Bad Boy care?"

He scoffs. "Do you by any chance think I'm jealous? 'Cause if you are, you're far from being right. You obviously don't know me at all" ouch. He walks off to go meet with Michael and I continue making my way to Mackenzie.

"So guess who's coming with us to Ashton's place" I say happily. A giant smile takes over her face and gives me a big hug.

"If he and I start dating, I mean when we start dating, you'll be the first one I thank" she says. I bring her over to where Ashton was, where Juliet and Luke are also now standing.

"Hey you guys know Mackenzie right? Luke, this is Mackenzie. Mackenzie, this is Luke." I introduce.

"Yeah, she's coming with us" Ashton says. Juliet gives a thumbs up and Luke just nods. Great greeting guys.

"So let's get going".
