1.5 "What's Stopping You?"

Friday October 24 - after school

"Ready to go?" Ashton asks us. We all nod.

"Wait, I forgot my math textbook in my locker" I completely forgot about those pages I was unable to finish yesterday because of volleyball practise. Juliet and Ashton groan.

"Oh stop whining, I'll be back in 5 minutes"

"I'll come with you" Luke offers. I nod my head to accept his offer and immediately after we were away from Juliet and Ashton's sight, he grabs my hands to intertwine with his.

"How badly did you want to do that today?" I laugh.

"So badly" He smile and kisses my forehead.

It's been two days since Luke and I talked about, well us, and he's so understandable about my decisions. Luke and I aren't official but we sure do act like we are. We haven't told Ashton and Juliet about anything just yet because we want to make sure we're legit before we do. All I know is, I haven't been this happy in a while.

Monday October 27 - lunch (meeting)

"Hey guys so as you all should know, Halloween is this Friday" I start the meeting with our schools Athletic and Student council. Our councils ever rarely team up on projects together since we are kind of enemy councils, we try to one-up each other every time. "We just want to run over once more how everything is going to go on Friday"

"The student council, like always, is going to be in charge of the haunted house maze while Athletic council is going to be in charge of the photobooth" Calum, the Student council president, adds.

"Half of each council is going to be running those events while the other half helps out with the games. We decided to have 'guess how many candycorn in this jar', 'bopping for worms in whip cream', 'eyeball bounce' and a 'cream pie eating contest'" I finish explaining.

"What's eyeball bounce?" Penelope asked.

"It's basically a game where we draw eyes on 10 ping pong balls and the person has to try getting as much as they can into the container. If they get at least 6 in, they get a prize" Calum explains.

"What are the prizes?" Vincent questioned.

"Basically dollarama stuff, like chocolate and candy" I laugh and so do the others in the room.

"The secretaries of each council will email you guys on who is going to be in charge of which stations by tonight or tomorrow night. Just make sure you guys are wearing a costume for Friday. That's it for today, we'll see you guys on Friday" Calum finishes.

"Wow Calum Hood as president, I never could've imagined that" I joke as people leave.

"Wow Hailey Silverson as president, I...actually can imagine that" he laughs, as do I.

"What are you going to be for Halloween?" I ask. "Captain America?"

"It's a surprise" He winks. "What about you?"

"Hmm...it's a surprise" I wink back at him and walk out bringing all my stuff with me. "I'll see you later" I laugh.

"Wait Hailey!" Calum calls after me.

"Yea?"

"Are you coming to Wesley's Halloween party this Friday?"

"My friends and I were planning on it" I reply.

"Great so I'll see you there?"

"Yea of course. I got to go so I'll talk to you later Calum" I smile and walk to where my friends usually are.
