Adrianna's POV

It's been two days since I last spoke to Luke. It's not that we were ignoring each other, it's just that it's so god damn awkward. We never found a reason to talk for a while. I would always message him if I saw a funny video, had a secret to tell him or if I just wanted to talk. For the past few days, I didn't laugh at anything, nothing has happened in my life and I just wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone honestly. I should be mad at him for choosing Hailey over me but I just couldn't blame him that he chose his girlfriend over me. I didn't expect him to.

The only time I see Luke during school is at lunch, so yesterday was so much easier than today since Hailey has her council meeting. He and I made lots of eye contact and it hurt so much. I wonder if he was going to keep his promise he made to me on Sunday or if that meant nothing to him. I sat with Naomi, Madison and the other usual people. I kept my head down until I saw him sit down. Him, he who made my life hell in 10 minutes.

Calum.

I glared at him as he sat down across from me. He took out his lunch to begin eating when he finally looked back at me. He looked confused for a minute then smirked. Cunt. He knew what he caused.

"I know I'm good looking but can you stop staring at me" He said cockily.

I scoffed and didn't even bother responding. No wonder Hailey doesn't like this kid. If she did, she would have to be out of her mind. I look over at Hailey's direction and see her chatting with her friends but Luke was quiet. Even if I tried, I couldn't tear my eyes off of him. I missed him so much. I just wanted to go over there and give him the biggest hug I could possibly muster, but I knrw that I can't. He looked in my direction and it remained like this for at least a minute until Hailey got his attention back. He smiled and kissed her on her forehead. Why can't that be me?

"You know staring isn't going to get you anything right?" an annoying voice said in front of me.

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up Calum. It's not like you're not jealous of Luke because he actually has the girl that you want". His jaw tightened and I smirked knowing it was getting him mad. "The fact that she actually doesn't want anything to do with you except to be friends, kinda funny don't you think?"

"You don't know anything"

"But I do know some things. Did you even tell Hailey about what you knew? Or is that secret just going to magically disappear?"

"Even if you told her she wouldn't believe you over me"

"Maybe not right now. But you know what I'm capable of Calum. You and I are the two most popular kids at school. It might be hard to overrule you, but just wait because you have no idea what I'm about to do" I get up and leave him wondering exactly what I wanted him to. Watch your back Hood.

Luke's POV

I really needed to talk to Adrianna. I owe her an apology. I promised her that everything will be the same between us, just in secrecy but it really hasn't been. I haven't talked to her in 3 days. I missed her. I always sneaked in some looks at her direction at lunch just so it feels like we haven't really lost each other, but in reality, we have. I left her a note in her locker this morning to tell her to meet me at our spot behind the staircase at 11:00 during second period. I'm really hoping she'll show up so I know I'm not the only one who's trying to save this friendship.

I walk up to my teacher. "Can I go to the bathroom please?" She nods her head yes and goes back to whatever she was doing on the computer. It was 10:57 by the time I arrived at the spot. I sat down for a few minutes and just rehearsed what I was going to say.
