"Hailey" he said

I held on to him arm as tightly as I could. I couldn't believe what I just saw. I looked at Luke on the ground with some cuts and blood on his lips. Then I looked at Calum and saw that he had a lot less cuts than Luke. I gently touched Calum's face as if he was made out of glass. 

"Calum"

He stared at me with sad eyes that quickly turned into anger. He released from my touch. 

"Go take care of your boyfriend" he said and walked away.

I don't know if he was just walking away from what happened or if he just walked away from me.

It's been one week since Luke and Calum fought. When I asked Luke what happened he told me Calum just went up to him and started talking shit. Then when Luke said something back, Calum just punched him. I don't know why but I feel like he's lying. I know I should trust my own boyfriend and all but that just isn't the Calum I know. Obviously he's a dick but he doesn't hurt people unless he had a good reason. I tried getting Calum's side of the story but he wouldn't text me back. I try to go up to him at school but whenever he sees me he just runs off in the other direction. I know this is what I wanted. I wanted to distance myself from Calum but I never knew it was going to hurt this much. I guess I have to lose some when I gain some. 

Luke and I have been inseparable since we worked everything out. It was like I had the perfect boyfriend and relationship that everyone wishes they had. If I had the perfect boyfriend and relationship, why do I feel so empty? 

Juliet's been getting used to me and Luke deciding to stay together. I knew she wasn't fond of us being together because whenever her and I are together and Luke asks if he can come over, she would say sigh and stay quiet for the rest of the day or just get away from us. I must've been too into my thoughts because I didn't even notice the end of first period bell rang.

"Missed me?" Luke walks over to my table and gives me a kiss on the forehead. It really does suck having my boyfriend sit all the way across the room from me but I couldn't complain. At least he's in my class. 

"You know I did" I hold his hand and walk out of class.

"Let's go out to eat for lunch, Ashton finally got his car yesterday"

"Wow really? Ashton got a car? I really couldn't tell from all of his snap stories, texts, Instagram and Facebook posts" I said sarcastically. "Even though I would love to, I can't. I have athletic council meetings Monday lunches remember"

"Just skip them"

"Um no Luke I can't 'just skip them'" I roll my eyes. "I'm the president" 

"Well sometimes presidents need breaks"

"Not this time"

"C'mon Hailey do something with your life for once" he said quite rudely

"What is that supposed to mean?" I let go of his hand and faced him.

"Nothing, I didn't mean it like that"

"I'm pretty sure it's not nothing if you said it that rudely"

"I'm just kidding Hailey, c'mon why are you so serious today?"

I scoffed. Are you kidding me right now. "Whatever Luke I'll see you later"

"I don't get a kiss?"

I roll my eyes and don't even bother responding and keep walking. What's gotten into him?
