5.4 "Thank You"

By the time I woke up Juliet and Ashton were the only ones who were still sleeping. My head was throbbing as I tried to get up. I put on one of my sweaters and make my way to the kitchen. I already see Luke and Calum standing in there with drinks in their hands. 

"Look who's finally up and it's only" He unlocks his phone "12:14" he smiles.

"My head hurts" I complain. Calum slides the advil bottle and places his cup of water in front of me without saying a word. "Where's Adrianna?" I ask after swallowing a pill.

"Calum drove her home an hour ago" he tells me. "Are you hungry?" 

I nod. 

"I'll wake up the others so we could get going" he grabs the advil bottle and a bottle of water and heads into the basement. Now it was just me and Calum and it couldn't be any awkward. I tried averting my eyes away from him and focusing on the water I was drinking but I can feel his gaze on me. Neither of us said anything. Me because I was scared he was mad at me and him because...well he's probably mad at me. Luke you can't possibly go any slower than you are now. Even though I just drank the cup of water I was still feeling a bit thirsty. I was about to get up from my seat to get some orange juice but Calum comes over and takes the cup away from me. He opens the fridge and pours orange juice into the cup and places it down in front of me again. I hesitantly take the cup and chug the juice down. When I finish I get up to place the cup in the dish washer but again, Calum takes the cup away from me and does it himself.

"Cal-" 

"They're finally up, you guys ready?" Luke asks walking into the kitchen. Calum takes his eyes off of me and walks out of the kitchen. "You ready to go?" Luke asks me. I nod and follow Luke out the door.

"My head still hurts" Juliet whines. We were all sitting together at booth in a Wendy's restaurant so we can have some time to decide what we wanted before ordering.

"Maybe you shouldn't have drank so much" Luke says

"Shut up, I do what I want"

"She's mean when she's hung over" Ashton adds. Truth is, Juliet still isn't the biggest fan of Luke ever since he cheated on me. That was the one thing she could never forgive and you basically lose all of her trust. I talked her into treating Luke with a bit more respect and decency but it's still in progress.

"I would slap you but the movement would make me brain dead" Juliet replies.

"Ok so what do you guys want, I'll go order" Luke says.

"Baconinator" Ashton says. 

"Me too" Juliet adds.

"Hailey?" Luke asks.

"I'll go order with you" Calum tells Luke before I could answer.

Luke gives him a head nod and turns back to me. "So what'd you want?"

"I know what she wants" Calum says before going to line up. Luke shrugs and follows him.

"Why is it so awkward between you two?" Ashton asks as soon as they were out of earshot.

I told them a summary of what happened last night. Starting from seeing Julia and the group of friends to the part where Liam was trying to get me to dance with him but Luke saving me before we could go any further. 

"Wait wasn't that your plan though? To talk to Liam so Calum could understand how you feel when he talks to Sophia?" Juliet asks.

"Yea but I realized it's stupid. It was actually fun talking to Liam just as friends"
