Superhero Gone Bad

Chapter 1

         I woke up bright an early in the morning. I stretched and took a quick shower. I got dressed and waited for the usual call to go and save some unfortunate person. BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I jumped up from my bed and ripped my clothes off (not literally) and grabbed my mask, fitting it over my eyes. I opened the windows, almost ripping it off the hinges. "Oops," I muttered. I flew high into the sky and followed the directions my earrings whipsered into my ears. 

      I flew down to an old lady's house and saw some robbers trying to steal her jewelry. I shook my head laughing. I walked in the already open door and told the old lady it's going to be alright and I would take care of everything. "Which way did they go?" I asked. She pointed a shaky finger upstaris. I walked up the stairs slowly and heard one of them say, "God! This lady is loaded!" I walked into the room secretly. 

     "Well, well, well. Look who it is. It's Jamie Night," robber number one said. I rolled my eyes. I straighten my green mask, getting ready for a fight. Robber number two looks up from the jewelry box and his eye widened. "Oh, no. We're going to die!" he said, dropping the necklace. "Now, if you just leave the jewelry here, I won't have to hurt you," I said. The first one scoffs, while the second one cowers in a corner.

    Robber number one (I'll call him Bob) said to robber number two, (I'll call him Rob) "Get off the floor idiot and shoot her!" Rob shook his head. Bob took out his own gun and pointed it at me. Before he knew what was happening, I run forward so fast, grabbed the gun, and ran back to my place. I swung the gun in my fingers while Bob stood there dumbfounded. "Now, I didn't want to have to do this, but..." I said and blew wind at him, making him fall over.

   I ran over to him and pressed down on his pressure point, knocking him out. Rob is still in the corner, holding his head. "Go downstaris so the police can get you," I said to him. He got up and ran downstaris. I shook my head laughing a little. I walked downstaris and told the old lady they didn't steal anything. I looked at the police and said, "There's another one upstairs. I knocked him out."

   They nodded and ran upstairs. I waved to the lady and she smiled. "Thank you," she said. I nodded. "Just doing my job, ma'am," I said. I glanced at my watch. I was going to be late for school! I nodded to the lady and walked outside, where I got bombarded with flashes. I covered my eyes and took a running jump into the sky. "Jamie! Jamie, we love you!" I shook my head, waving down at the crowd. I flew off and made sure no one was following.

   I jumped back into my window and changed. I flattened my hair down and walked out of my room. "Mom! I'm leaving!" I said. "Okay, honey! Nice job yesterday!" she said back. I walked out of the door and ran to school. No, I didn't use my super speed. I do live close to school, you know. I walked in and everyone sneered at me. I ignored it. My best and only friend, Marvel, walked up to me with a smile. "Hey!" he said.I smiled and said, "Hey." 

   He touched my hair and said, "Where the heck were you? Your hair has a leaf in it." I panicked. "Well, I did run to school," I said. "That might have something to do with it." He nodded. The bell rang. "Well, I guess I'll see you later, then," I said. "Yeah, bye," he said with a wave. I walked into Math class and even the teacher gave me a look. Oh, boy, I thought. Today is going to be so fun. I sat down in my usual seat, all alone. I set my watch to vibrate and tried to listen to the teacher.

     Halfway through English, my watch started vibrating. My eyes shot open and I rose my hand. Mrs. Manny rolled her eyes and said, "What, Selena?" I put my hand down, "I need to go to the bathroom." She scoffed. "Go, then." I practically ran out of there. I ran down the hallway. It was empty, anyway. I burst out the door and ran to the side of the building. There were no windows there, and I hid behind a garbage bin. I changed quickly and threw my backpack in the bushes.
