Chapter 25

I flew back to the cottage, seeing Fire waiting. I smiled and landed behind him. He hadn't noticed me yet. I poked him in the sides. "Boo!" He jumped a little and smiled. "Hey, Marcie," he said. "Let's go." I smiled. "Sure Fire." He laughed at my little pun. We walked over to his motorcycle, me making sure I didn't move around too much. My stomach was stinging really badly. Fire didn't notice. He climbed on and I went right after. I hissed in pain and he glanced at me. "Are you alright?" he asked. I nodded, hugging him tighter.

He brought me deep into the forest. I looked around in confusion. "Why are we here?" I asked. He smirked. "You'll see." He brought me closer to him and led me even deeper into the forest. My eyes widened instinctively and I tapped into some of my night vision. He smirked and put his hands over my eyes. He led me a little ways and then put his hands down. I looked around. Then gasped. "Did you do this?" I asked. He nodded.

There was a blanket on the floor and a rose on it. Mini tealights were sitting around the blanket and some were handing in the trees. He had put the food in a little basket. He set this all up in a tiny clearing with moonlight streaming in. I gasped again and turned to him. He looked a little nervous. "Do you like it?" I grinned and slung my arms around his neck. "I love it," I said, kissing him on the cheek. He smiled.

"Well, c'mon, then," he said. I smiled. "Of course." He led me to the blanket and we sat down. I noticed his hands were shaking a bit. He was really nervous. I smirked at his face. "What did you bring?" I asked. He opened the basket and took out sandwiches and juice. I almost 'awwed' at his cuteness. "I hope this is alright," he said, his voice shaking a bit. "I thought it would be alright." I smiled gently, taking his hands. "It's perfect," I said. "You don't have to be nervous. I love it already."

He smiled and shook his head, some nerves going away. "Well," he said. "I guess we can eat now." He handed me a sandwich and some juice. As we ate, I was careful not to move around too much. When we finished, he looked at me skeptically. "Are you sure you're alright?" I winced. This time he noticed. "Marcie, what's the matter?" I winced again. "N- nothing," I said evasively. He looked at me, concern coloing his features.

"Marce," he said. "Tell me." I sighed and relayed the story to him. His face looked murderous as I finished. I flinched as he put his hand to my stomach. "Marcie . . let me see it." I shook my head. He gave me a pleading look. "Please, Marcie," he begged. "Please." I shook my head again. "How?" He crawled over to me. "Like this." He took my summer dress in his hands and pushed it up to right under my breasts. I gasped and shivered at the sudden breeze. He sucked in a breath.

I didn't know if it was from the bruise or from her skin. Probably both. "Marcie," he breathed. "This is really bad."I laughed. "I know, Fire," I said. "It wouldn't hurt so bad if it wasn't." He stared at my stomach. "Why isn't it healing?" he asked. I winced. "It's going to heal normally. They used my kryptonite. I was dying." He leaned into me. "Why didn't you die?" he asked. I shrugged, then winced. "I don't know."

He glanced at my stomach with a hungry look in his eyes. "Fire?" I laughed nervously. He glanced at my face and snapped out of it. "Shouldn't you have gone to the hospital or something?" he asked. I shook my head. "They would want to know how this happened," I said. "Can't look normal with a bruise from a missle, can we? They would know something's up. I'm not dead." He shook his head.

"Marcie," he said, dropping the topic. "Can I kiss you?" I looked at him and pulled my dress back down. "Sure, Fire." I smirked as his head came down to mine. He grabbed me so I was on top of him. He was really careful with my stomach. He smiled and his eyes lit up. I smiled back. He moved his hand to the back on my neck and guided my mouth to his. He kissed me gently and softly. Then he added more pressure.

His hands slipped to my shoulders. He brushed them over my collarbone, sending shivers down my spine. He tugged the straps down a little, oxposing my shoulders. A warning bell went off, but I ignored it, too consumed by his kisses. He moved it down a little more, brushing his hands over the tops of my breasts. That's when I pulled back. "Fire," I breathed. "Fire, no." He looked disappointed. "Okay, Marcie," he said. "Not too fast, I got it." I smiled. "You got it, Fire."
