Chapter 30
The next day I woke up to a plate on my lap. I shot out of my bed, food flying all over. Someone sighed. "Now look what you've done." I turned around to find the same boy from the day before. "Who are you?" I asked. He frowned, looking close to tears. "I'm Dustin," he said. "And that was your breakfast I made for you." I looked around. I was in some room that was green and purple. "Where am I?" I asked. He smiled sadly. "This is your room," he said. My stomach grumbled and I blushed.
Dustin sighed. "Well, I guess I'll go get you more food, then," he said. I nodded, standing up. I decided to explore. There was an outfit on my dresser. It had a black dress and electric green leggings. A green mask sat next to it with these earrings and a belt. I picked it up and stared at it. It had a girl on it holding up her arms, showing her muscles. There was a wave and a gust of wind. Across the top were the words, 'Jamie Night'. I stared at it. I felt my mind working, trying to remember this. I know it has to do with me.
"Selena." I whirled around, dropping the belt at my feet. "Dustin," I said. "Good. I'm starving." He laughed. "What, I'm your servant?" he said. I smirked and nodded. He handed me a bagel and set a glass of orange juice on the dresser. "So, Selena," he said. "Any ideas on what happened? Any memories?" I wracked my brain, trying to remember something, if anything. I saw a faint flash of me in some school next to some boy with glasses. "Well, I think I remember some boy with glasses." He nodded, frowning. "Marvel," he said. "Marvel's his name."
I nodded. "Okay," I said. "Hey, wanna arm wrestle?" He looked at me like I was crazy. "Okay, fine," he said. He held out his hand over the bed and I put my hand in his. "One, two, three," I said. "Go!" I smashed his hand down so hard he winced. I pulled my hand back quickly. "Oh, sorry!" I said. "I didn't realize you were such a wimp!" I smirked. He rubbed his hand. "I'm not a wimp. You're just... well, you." I gave him an odd look, but shrugged it off. "Hey, I want to show you something," he said. He walked to another room, pulling me along.
He turned on something that I think is a TV, but you can't be sure. He flipped to a channel, showing some girl getting stabbed in the chest, then getting electrocuted. I felt a little pain in my head. I clutched at it. "Oww," I moaned. Dustin walked over to me, putting his arms out. I have no idea why, but I let him. He looked into my eyes. "What did you remember?" he asked. I pointed to the screen, where it showed the girl on fire, burning down a house. "That's- that's me!" I said. He smiled. "Yes, Selena," he said. "That's you." I smiled.
The TV flicked to another scene. It showed me kissing some guy. Fire. I don't know why I remembered. It just came into my head. Everything came rushing back to me. I fell on the floor, moaning. Trying to relieve myself of this pain. The memories were coming back so fast. Too fast, if you ask me. I was vaguely aware of Dustin by my side, trying to comfort me. I must've been on the floor for fifteen minutes, when it finally stopped. Dustin searched my eyes. "What did you remember?" he asked, worried.
I smiled. I stood up, pulling his with me. I laughed and twirled around with him. I'm a superhero! I defeated Bone Breaker and all the villains! I'm sure there's going to be more villians to come, but for now, we're free! All thanks to Dustin helping me. I looked at him. He was staring at me with a half smile on his face. I smiled widely and pulled him closer to me. "What did you remember?" he asked, a smile evident in his voice.
I kissed him lightly. "I remembered I love you," I said, with a blinding smile. His matched mine. He picked me up and laughed. I giggled with him. He set me down and put his palms to my cheeks. I closed me eyes, pressing my face in his hands and making a humming noise. He laughed. "I've alway known I love you," he said. I smiled up at him. I threw my arms around his neck and kissed him hard. He responded immediately. He wrapped his arms around my waist and swumg me around.
I pulled away from him with a smile. At this moment, I knew nothing could go wrong.
