Chapter 14
After hiding the shampoo in the cabinet, I jumped in the shower and got my hair and body all wet. Then I waited a few minutes until getting out. I wrapped a towel around myself and made sure I was dripping wet. Then I opened the door quietly and walked to Kasper's room. Kasper was on his bed looking at the ceiling and Dustin was laying on the floor with his feet to the bed, tossing a ball in the air and catching it.
"Kasper?" I said. The boys' heads both turned at the same time. Kasper's eyes got wide and he shot off the bed. Dustin stayed where he was but got a lustful look in his eyes. "Kasper?" I said again. He stared at me. "W-what?" he said. "I can't find the shampoo," I said. "Can you get it for me?" Dustin was watching me and it made me uncomfortable. "Yeah, sure," Kasper said. "Wasn't it in the shower already?" I shook my head, scattering water droplets, which the boys' eyes followed. I giggled internally.
I followed him back to the bathroom and he got the shampoo right where I put it. "Here, Selena," he said. "If you need anything else just yell." I nodded. He looked at me one last time before walking out the door. I closed it behind him and dropped my towel to the floor, jumping back in the warm water of the shower. I shampooed and conditionered my hair quickly and scrubbed the sweat off my body.
After getting dressed, I walked downstairs to find Kristina in front of the stove. "Hey, Kristina?" I said. "Whatcha doing?" She glanced at me. "Oh, this stupid bacon isn't cooking right!" she huffed. I ushered her out of the way and took a look at it. Some were burnt and some weren't done. "Well, some are going to have to go in the garbage," I said. "These are black." She nodded. I discreetly made all the air go away from them so they wouldn't set the fire alarm off.
I cooked the rest and turned the stove off. Kristina handed me a plate, biting her lip. "Thanks, Selena," she said. I nodded with a smile. "I was going to make pancakes, but seeing as I suck at cooking . ." she said. "I'll do it," I said. She looked at me. "You sure?" she asked. I nodded. "Get me flour, sugar, water, and vanilla," I said. "I'll get the rest." After we had all the ingredients lined up, I mixed what we needed in a bowl and heated the stove back up.
I made three at a time. As I was putting the last three on a plate, the boys bounded down and stole our food. "Hey!" Kristina screeched. "No one said that was yours!" Dustin shrugged as Kasper drowned his in syrup. I sighed. "I'll just make more," I said, pouring more batter into the pan. Kristina was still mad, but she didn't say anything. When I was done with them, the boys stole them, too.
"Hey!" Kristina screamed. "What makes you think you can steal all our food?" Kasper shrugged. "They're really good, and we're growing boys," he said. "We need our food." I sighed again and started a new batch of pancakes. While they were cooking, I munched on a piece of bacon. Dustin looked up. "There's bacon?" he asked, jumping up. I picked up the plate and put it behind me. I put my hand on his chest and held him back. Kasper and Kristina started laughing. "Wow," Kasper gasped. "A girl holding Dustin back!" They both had tears streaming down their faces and I let him go.
I stepped back, and he fell. I went back to making pancakes, but guarding the bacon at the same time. I flipped them and set them on a plate, making three more. Dustin got up and glared at me. "How did you do that?" he asked. I shrugged indifferently. "I guess I'm just stronger than you," I said. He dropped it and, grumbling, went back to his seat. He finished his pancakes and sat back. I finished our pancakes and, this time, the boys didn't steal them.
I put them on two plates and said, "Kristina, get the bacon." She nodded and picked it up from the stove. I smiled. She put some on mine and some on hers. We sat down across from the boys and started eating. I made mine syrup soup with pancakes. I love them like that. I dipped my bacon in my syrpu and noticed they were all looking at me. "What?" I asked, my mouth full. "Ew!" Kristina said. "I can't believe you just ate that!"
I shrugged, eating a piece of my pancakes. They were good, I had to admit. Dustin shuddered and left the room, Kasper not far behind. "I have to leave soon," I said, swallowing. Kristina started to whine. "Why?" she asked. "I have to do something with my dad today, and I can't miss it," I explained. "Oh, alright," she said. I finished my pancakes with a satisfied sigh. "That was good," Kristina complimented me. "Thanks," I said.
After Kristina dropped me off at home, I collapsed on my bed. I didn't get any sleep last night, and I was really tired. I wasn't lying when I said I had to do something with my dad. I was just so tired. I still had a few hours to sleep...
