Chapter 21

The class erupted in cheers and whoops. I stared down at Mrs. Maddy, devastated. "What?" I screeched. "You can't expell me!" She stood up. "God, Miss Star," she said. "You'd think you haven't done any wrong!" She cracked her back. It has to be stinging by now. I smirked at the thought. "And that's funny?" she asks. My smirk turns into a grimace. What is mom going to say? She grabbed my arm and began pulling me to the principal's office. "No, stop!" She pulled me to a stop and glared at me. "What do you want, Selena?" she asked. "Why do you want to stay here? Huh? What good can you possibly like here?"

I stared at her with a glare. "Really?" I said. I ripped my shoulders from her grip. I was getting mad. I was getting hot. Mrs. Maddy took a step back. "Miss Starr?" she said nervously. "Your eyes are black and red." I covered my eyes and ran from her. I ran to the front, where the door was. Dustin was standing in my way. "Can you move-" He gripped my shoulders. "What did you do now, Mary?" he asked. I shoved him off me quickly. I ran past him, but he grabbed my wrist. That just made me madder. "You really don't want to do that," I said, low and dangerous. He smirked. Not a good choice.

"What are you going to do, Selena?" he asked. "Hmm? Hit me?" I balled my hands into fists. I had to keep my anger in check. "Whoa, Selena, your eyes," he said, his eyes widening at me. A wave of red-hot anger washed through me and I fought to keep it down. "Shit," he said. "What the Hell?" I glared at him as another wave came, almost taking me. "Let go!" I screamed, tugging my wrist out of his grip. "I need to leave!" I ran out of school, leaving my bag. I grabbed my mask out of my pants and slipped it on. I stood in the middle of the road and screamed.

I burst into flames. They flicked to the tops of buildings. Yeah, that's how mad I am. When I'm mad, my powers get very, very strong. I can rip a buliding off the ground like I was picking up a feather. I kicked at a car. I screamed again. I punced a tree down. It burst into flames and flew into a building with a crack. I smirked. "Jamie! Stop it!" I looked up and saw Daddy. "Hi, Daddy!" I screamed, anger leaking into my words. "Come to watch the fun?" I picked up a car and threw it down the road. I picked up another one, and with a scream, crunched it into a ball.

Dad came down to me. he moved his hand near me, but took it away when it got singed a little. "Can't be helped, Daddy," I said. "I'm pissed." He took a step back. I rose myself in the air and screamed. I turned into a fireball, reaching an inferno. Everyone was out of their buildings, out of school, watching me. I smirked. No one could calm me down now. I flew down near a patch of people. Some ran screaming, some stood their ground. "You like a girl on fire?" I asked, reaching a hand toward a boy a little older than me. "You like that?"

I touched his hand and he hissed, whipping his hand away from me. "Get away from me!" he said, running away, cradling his hand. "Anyone else wanna stop me?" I asked loudly. No one moved. I ran up to a buliding. I jumped on top of it and pounded it down until it was dust. No one moved. I saw Dustin near school. I ran up to him quickly. "Hey, Dustin," I purred. "Wanna go?" He backed up. "I don't know what's gotten into you, Jamie, but it's not good," he said. "My name's Marcie," I said, gritting my teeth. "Jamie," he said. Then I felt someone flip me around I was getting ready to punch them in the face when they slammed their lips onto mine.

I instantly knew it was Fire. I relaxed at his touch, intertwining my arms behind his neck. He gripped my waist, pulling me closer to him. i knew I wasn't on fire anymore, but I liked kissing him. I scratched the back of his neck in a possessive way and noticed the goosebumps that rose. I smirked. He tilted his head, making us kiss better. We moved back a little and then our lips met again for another kiss. It was sweet, but was beginning to go intense. A loud cough from behind me made me realize we weren't alone.

I slepped away from Fire with a rueful smile, turning around to glare at whoever interrupted us. It was actually Dustin. He was glaring at me so strongly. I smirked, wrapping an arm around Fire. "You like that, huh, Dus?" I asked. He looked surprised at my nickname, but didn't comment. He decided it would be better to stalk off. I smirked after him. fire turned me around. I think it's better if we leave. "I wanna hang out with my friends today," I said. "My other friends." He nodded, steering me away. "It's best you get out of those clothes," he said.

I looked down at myself. My clothes were singed and had holes. "Crap," I mumbled. "I really liked this shirt, too." Fire smirked. "C'mon, then," he said, leading me to his motorcycle. "Sorry, Fire," I said. "For getting mad like that. I guess I don't have to go to school anymore, though." He looked at me, mildly surprised. "How come?" he asked. I shrugged. "Got expelled," I said. He gaped at me. "Why?" he asked. "Mrs. Maddy slapped me so i flipped her over my back and threw her on the floor." He looked impressed. "Great job," he said. I shrugged, climbing on the back of his motorcycle.
