Chapter 2
As I landed on the roof of Marvel's house, I tried to compose myself. I slowly dropped myself down near his window. I tapped it. He looked up from his book and his eyes widened. He rubbed his eyes and said, "Jamie?" I motioned for him to open his window and he ran over. He opened the window and let me in.
"Oh, my God," he said. "I can't believe Jamie Night is actually standing in my room." I smiled and said, "Well, why wouldn't I?" He looked closer at me. "Your voice sounds farmiliar... I can't pin it down, but I swear I heard your voice before," he said. Uh, oh. "Must just be one of those people," I said nervously. "Yeah, must be," he said. "I don't ever think I met someone as brave as you." Ouch. I smiled. "Really?" I asked. He nodded, his eyes shining.
"So why are you here?" Marvel asked. I smirked. "One of my good friends told me to come and get to know you," I said. "Really? Who?" he asked. "Ah, ah, ah!" I sang. "Not telling!" He pouted. "C'mon, please!" he begged. I shook my head. "Fine," he said. "What do you want to do?" I smiled. "Want to fly?" I asked. His eyes bugged. "What?" he croaked.
"You heard me," I said. "C'mon. It'll be fun." He still didn't budge. "What if I'm too heavy?" he asked. I put my hand on my hip and cocked my head to the side. "I just picked up a van and you're asking me if you're too heavy?" I said. He shook his head. "Okay." He finally gave in.
I put him on the roof and said, "Now, if you feel like you're going to throw up, pull my hair. Hard." He scowled. "Do I have to?" he asked. "Yes!" I snapped. He looked down. "Okay," he said quietly. I picked his chin up. "Hey, I'm sorry," I said. He nodded. "Get on!" I said cheerily. He jumped on my back and I didn't even so much as grunt. "See?" I said. "I'm a big girl." He laughed and it pleasantly vibrated through my body.
I didn't like him like that. He's a friend, and that's it. I started to run to the edge and I felt Marvel dig his fingers into hy shoulders. I jumped off and he squeezed harder. I fell for a few seconds, trying to right myself. Right before I hit the ground, I flew back up and went really high. "See?" I said. "I told you I could do it." He just clutched around my neck. "Are you alright, Marvel?" I asked. "Yeah," he breathed.
As I flew higher and higher, I could see people pointing and waving. "Wave to the people, Marvel!" I said. I kicked my foot and flew a little lower. I waved and I saw Dustin. I stuck my tongue out at him and he stood there, dumbfounded. "Who's he?" Marvel asked. "A douche," I said simply. Marvel laughed. "Wow, I thought I would never see the day when Jamie Night hates someone," he said.
I just laughed. I landed on an apartment building and willed clean water to come up here. It floated up near me and I drank it. Marvel was staring at me with his mouth open. "What?" I asked. "You- you just-" he stammered. I chuckled. "Yeah, you want some?" I asked, making some water go near him. He backed away. "It won't hurt you!" I laughed. He laughed nervously.
He stepped forward and took a small sip. I willed it to splash his face a little. It did, and he spluttered. I laughed, throwing my head back. I put my hands up and moved them, so air would go on his glasses and take the water off. He stood there with his eyes closed for a few moments and then opened them. He said, "I feel like I've known you forever, Jamie. Who are you, really?" I clammed up. "That's my secret!" I said, with a triumphant smile.
He pouted. "Please?" he said. "I won't tell anyone! Not even Selena." I stared at him. "Who?" He stared back. "Selena. My best friend." He got this far away look in his eyes and said, "God, she's amazing!" My heart started to beat faster and I said, "Really? What's she like?" He stared at the stars. "She's the nicest person I know. She's caring, funny, smart, and always brightens up my day. I'm her only friend, though. Everyone hates her for no reason. Every time someone says something bad about her, I want to rip their head off," he said.
My heart was hammering away in my chest. "Looks like someone's in love!" I said cheekily, trying to hide that I was really nervous. I playfully pushed me. "No. Not yet," he said, smiling. "Getting there, though." I smiled, but I felt like screaming. He wasn't that bad looking, not it wasn't that. It was just that, well, I would never like him that way. "That's nice," I said. "Ready to go home yet?" I asked. He nodded, yawning. "Yeah, it's getting kinda late," he said. I turned around and said, "Get on!" He jumped on and we went up a little more smoothly this time.

I dropped Marvel safely at home and blew him a kiss. He just about fainted. I giggled and flew away. When I was just about in the middle of the city, I flew to the ground. I just didn't feel like flying anymore. I wanted to take my mask off, but that would be a really bad idea. I decided to have a little fun. I went in the middle of the road and started to play chicken. When a truck came, blaring its horn, I jumped up and did a cartwheel in the air.
"Crazy girl," the truck driver screamed. I laughed. I flew down to the stop light and sat on the pole. It turned red and a couple cars stopped. I watched as realization dawned on the man's face. "Jamie?" he said. I waved and he waved back, his mouth hanging open. He pulled out his phone and texted someone. Someone on the sidewalk noticed me and said, "Look! It's Jamie Night!" I winked at her and waved.
I noticed someone from school. It was the barbie doll, Olivia. "Jamie! Jamie, over here!" she said, waving at me to try and get my attention. I flew near her, but not close enough for her to really see my face. "Yes?" I said, rolling my eyes. "I'm such a big fan of you, Jam! Can we be bast friends?" she asked. I laughed. "Please, don't call me that ever again. I would have to be real to be your friend, now wouldn't I?" I said, quoting her from earlier today.
Her face fell. "How did you know I said that?" I shrugged. "Super powers?" She looked mad. "You stupid girl!" she said. "You'll pay for this!" I smiled and blew a small gust of wind at her. She fell on her butt and screamed. I made her get drenced with sewer water. She started to cry. "What did I ever do to you?" she screamed at the sky.
Her barbie doll friends helper her up, holding their breaths the whole time. "I think you need a shower," Barbie one said. Olivia glared at her. "I hate you, Jamie!" she screamed. I laughed, flying away.

A few minutes later, I was at the park. It was pitch black and, if I do say so myself, it was pretty creepy. So I walked to a swing and sat down, trying to sort my thoughts. Marvel likes me and is on his way to loving me? I let out a sigh and put my head in my hands. Now I officially have an enemy, but she's only human. Olivia. I laughed bitterly. Oh, how I hate her. The stupid thing says i'm not even real and then expects me to be best friend with her.
Just when I'm about to take off, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I let out a shrill scream and flip around, getting ready to kick them in the face. Dustin put his hands up and said, "Chill. Not here to hurt you." I sighed and sat down again, facing him this time. "What do you want?" I asked, defeated. He took my chin in his hands, forcing me to look at him. "I just wanted to ask you something," he said.
I shivered. "What?" I said softly. He smirked. "Take off your mask," he said. I ripped my face out of his hands and flew into the air so he couldn't reach me. I sat down on top of the swing set and watched as he tried to reach my feet to pull me down. I laughed and he stopped. "Your laugh is so pretty," he said softly, lookin
