Chapter 12

I woke up in the middle of the night. I checked the clock and saw it was around three in the morning. I groaned and flipped over on the floor. It's not like it was uncomfortable, it wasn't. It's just that . Why did I wake up? I don't know. I got up to and walked to the bathroom to go pee. I noticed a door was wide open. I looked around to see if anyone was there, and, of course, they weren't. I creeped to the door and peered in.

Dustin was sprawled out on the floor, snoring softly. Kasper was stretched out in the bed, his mouth open in total abandon. I giggled silently. They look like retards. "Maybe I should take a picture," I whispered to myself. Then thought the better of it. That would be immature. Kasper did kiss me. That muyst mean he likes me, right? Maybe, maybe not.

I decided to go and fly. I haven't all day, and my powers are begging to be used some more. I sighed and went in the bathroom. I locked the door and opened the window up wide. I climbed on the windowsill and jumped off. When I was an inch from the floor, I shot back up and laughed. I almost forgot how fun this was. I did flips and loop-de-loops and all kinds of things.

Then I remembered someone could see me if they looked out the window. "Oh, shit," I cursed quietly. I flew to my house and quietly slid the window open. I went into my closet and got my mask, fitting it over my eyes. Just because they don;t want me helping anymore doesn't mean I can't be seen anywhere, right? Right.

I flew over the town, going higher and higher. Just as I was about to go above the clouds, I heard a faint, "Jamie!" My even flying faltered. Who could that be? I flew down a little and saw who it was. It was FIre Shooter. "I thought you went to jail," I said stupidly. He shrugged. "What are you wearing?" he smirked. I slapped him in the face. "My nightie, for your information!" I said.

He laughed. "So ridden out of town, are we?" he said. I scowled. "You're not wanted either," I said. He laughed. "At least I still have people who admire me," he said. I glanced at him. "I have people who admire me!" I said. He just rose his eyebrows. I skidded to a halt on the ground. "What are you doing up?" I asked. He ran a hand through his hair. "I don't know," he said. "Maybe it's that I felt your presence and I wanted to talk to you about something." I scowled.

"I don't want to hear it," I said stubbornly. "C'mon, please?" Fire Shooter begged. "What now?" I asked rolling my eyes. He flipped his hair and looked me in the eyes. His eyes looked exactly like fire. So beautiful. "I want you to really consider becoming a villan," he said softly. "If no one wants you, give them a reason." I looked at him in shock.

"I would help you be known as a villan," he continued. "Even Bone Breaker wants you to join the dark side." I winced slightly at the mention of him. He looked at me. Then at his watch. "Looks like I have to go," he said. "But, really, Jamie, think about it. Just so you remember. . ." I looked at him questioningly. Then, so fast I didn't know what he was doing, he kissed me. He got hold of me and his burning hands went to my back. I scooted away from his hands only to go closer to him.

Damn, he's a good kisser. Jeezum! I shouldn't be thinking that about a villan! I closed my eyes and relaxed into his embrace. He pulled away after a bit and whispered, "Think about it." My eyes were still closed and when I opened them, he was gone.

I sighed and flew back to Kristina's house. I didn't really feel like flying anymore. So when I got to the window, I expected to see nothing, but what I saw was Kristina, Kasper, and Dustin all looking out the window for me. I tried to fly backwards, my feet flailing, but I was going too fast and it didn't really work. I wasn't watching where I was going, just watching the window, and I crashed into a tree.

I fell like a rock to the floor and scrambled to get back up. "What was that?" I heard Kristina say. Someone was near me. I think it was Dustin. "Jamie?" he asked. I groaned and rolled over in the grass. "Go away," I muttered. I was in a bad mood. Fire Shooter just stole a kiss. It didn't count as my real first kiss because I wasn't aware he was going to do it.

"Hey guys!" Dustin called. "It's not Selena, it's Jamie!" I heard footsteps and then two more heads came into view. "Wow," Kristina gushed. "Jamie. I am such a bug fan of you. Oh, my gosh. This is amazing." I smiled and sat up. Dustin rubbed my back and I gave him a warning look. "Guys, I'm not that happy right now. I'm sorry," I said. "Something just happened. I need to go." Dustin let me go as I flew into the sky. "See you again soon, Miss Night!" Dustin called.

I flew above the clouds and sighed. I can't keep getting caught like that. I flew back home and dropped my mask off before flying back to Kristina's house. This time I made sure no one was there. I flew down to the front porch and opened the door. "Where were you?" Kristina asked. I winced and turned around. "Um, I took a walk?" I suggested. "Yeah, okay," she said, putting her hands on her hips.

I shrugged wincing. "I found her, guys," she called. Dustin and Kasper came barreling down the steps. "Guess what, Selena?" Kasper asked. I rolled my eyes. "What?" I said. "We met Jamie Night!" he exclaimed. I had to act excited. "Oh really!?" I asked. He nodded. Kristina's eyes were sparkling, but Dustin saw right through my fake enthusiasm. "You don't care?" he asked.

I shrugged. "I do, it's just, I don't really care for her," I said, trying to hide my panic. "I know what it is," he said, crossing his arms. I looked at him. "You know who Jamie is," he said. I sighed in relief. Thank God he doesn't expect me. "Oh, no I don't," I said quickly. "I just don't really care. At all." He still didn't believe me. It's times like this I wish I could read minds. "Oh, well, if you don't mind, I want to get back to sleep," I said easily.

Dustin was still looking at me suspiciously, but I ignored him. "Yeah, I guess," Kristina said uneasily. She must've felt the tension in the room. I shrugged and walked up the staris, everyone following me. Kristina and Kasper ran in front of me, but Dustin lagged behind. He spun me around. "I know you're hiding something," he said. "I'm going to find out what it is." I alughed nervously and rolled my eyes. He eyed me and walked back into Kasper's room. I ran into Kristina's room and laid down to fall asleep. The thing is, it never happened.
