Chapter 17
After school, I waited for Fire by the steps. People passed me and some pushed me away. I went into the alley by the school and clipped my mask to my hair. Then I came back. "Hey, look!" A girl I hate said. "It's Jamie!" I looked behind me like a smart-ass and said, "Who, me?" The girl, I think her name was Drina, said, "Well, duh. What else would it be?" I gave her a 'what the hell' look and said, "My name's Marcie." People were giving me weird looks.
Then I heard a scream. "It's Fire Shooter!" I shrugged, hiking my backpack up higher on my shoulder. I walked calmly over to Fire and climbed on the back of his motorcycle. People were gasping and giving me looks. "Let's get outta here, Fire," I said. "These people aren't worthy of my presence." Dustin stepped forward and said, "But, Jamie! I thought you hated him!" I glared at him and said, "not anymore." Then Fire left with a laugh that rang out to everyone.
When we got back to the cottage, he told me, "You can eat a snack, then we have to leave." I nodded, opening the pantry. He had doritos, donuts, and oreos. I took out the donuts and doritos. I sat doan and ate half the bad of doritos and four donuts. "Wow, you pig," Fire commented. I shrugged. I wasn't going to deny it; I am a pig. A sucker for junk food. "Hurry up," he whined when I took another donut. I stuffed it in my mouth and chewed slowly. Once I swallowed, I grabbed some chips and said, "Let's go."
Fire drove us to my house. I told him to wait. I opened the front door and walked up to my room quietly. "Sweetie?" Mom called as I was packing up my things. "Is that you?" I hate to say it, but I panicked. She opened my door and saw all my things over the floor. "Honey?" she said. "What's going on?" I gulped nervously. "Heh, you see, Mom," I started. "I'm a villan now and I can't live with heroes." She stared at me. "Nice joke, honey," she said seriously. "Just come with me and we'll get you some ice cream, would you like that?"
I sighed. "Mom, I'm not kidding," I said. I took my suit out of my closet and threw it on my bed. "Mom, I'm not Jamie Night anymore," I said. "I'm Marcie Night." She looked at me like I was a monster. "Honey," she said. "i don't know why you want this.." I interrupted her. "I'm sick of the hate," I said. I zippered my bag shut and slung it over my shoulder. "Bye, mom," I said, kissing her cheek. "Tell dad I love him, too." With that happy thought, I left Mom standing there with a sad look on her face to my new life.

Fire was waiting for me by his motorcycle. I swallowed my tears, but he noticed I was about to cry. He slung his arm around my shoulders and said, "Aw, Marcie, it's not that bad. I mean, yeah, no parents, but you'll have me." I smiled up at him and he smiled back. "Hey, Marce?" he said. "Yeah?" I said back. "Can you pick my motorcycle up?" he asked, smirking. I walked over to it and picked it up with one hand. "This answer your question?" I said. He nodded. "Look," he said. "You can fly there if you want. I'll just lead you there." I nodded quickly.
Fire started to drive off and I ran for a little bit. Then I launched myself in the air and flew next to him. I made the wind go away from us and he smiled. "Hey!" he said. "You sucked the fun right out of it!" I smirked and took all his air away. "I didn't mean that!" he choked. I smiled and let him breathe again. He choked and huffed at me and I just smiled. He took a sudden turn and I sped off in the other direction. I back-peddaled and caught up to him, only to find he was cracking up. I splashed him with water that I got from nowhere and he spluttered.
"Where did that water come from?" he shouted. "Nowhere!" I shouted back. Then I ran into a tree. Right into a tree. I fell down and groaned. I heard a screech and then Fire was running up to me. He touched my face gently and said, "It'll heal, right?" I smiled and cracked my nose back into place and saw him grimace. I smirked and the sighed as it healed. "Yeah, maybe it would be a good idea just to go on the bike with you," I said, rubbing blood away. He chuckled and nodded.
"We're here, actually," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "Good, because I want to change!" I said, grabbing my bag and walking into his cottage-house thing. I ran to his room and locked the door. I changed into a pair of jeans and an Asking Alexandria shirt. I opened th door putting my red-brown hair into a ponytail. Fire walked up to me eating a nutella sandwich. I know I drooled. He laughed.
He gave me the rest and said, "Here. I already know you're going to eat all my food, and we haven't even been here a day." I scowled and stuffed the nutella sandwich in my face. He chuckled and pulled my ponytail lightly. I slapped his hand and glared at him. He laughed. "Now, c'mon," he said. "We have to go to the HQ now." I gulped nervously and said, "What if someone tries to kill me?" Fire laughed. He laughed. "They won't," he said. "Everyone wanted to kill you because you were good. Heck, I even wanted you dead. But now that you're on our side, I feel different about you.."
I sighed, wiping my mouth on Fire's gray shirt. He stepped back with a disgusted look on his face. I gave him an innocent look. He grabbed my arm and started to pull me after him. "Fine, fine," I said. "We'll go." Fire handed me a helmet and we drove off. I was getting more and more nervous. What if Bone Breaker really tries to kill me? What if I die? I shivered. What if this is my death wish? Only one way to find out. Fire stopped at a different part of the forest and told me to follow him. After ten minutes of walking, we came to a medium sized building. Standing on the first step was BOne Breaker. He saw me and smiled.
