Chapter 19
Fire drove us home later in the day. I really like Tammy and Willow. They seem nice. I would like to see what they could do. Fire pulled up to the cottage and I jumped off, stretching. i yawned and smacked my lips together, slumping down in the grass. I stared at the clouds and sighed. Fire laid down next to me and said, "What's wrong?" I looked over at him. "Oh, nothing," I said. "It's just that I haven't seen much of Kristina lately." He looked at me curiously. "Who's Kristina?" I sighed, looking back to the clouds. "She's my friend," I said. "One of my only friends."
Fire grabbed my hand and squeezed it. "I'm your friend. Willow and Tam are your friends," he said. "Yeah, but you don't know who I really am," I said. "I hate to have to hide all the time." Fire rubbed slow circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. I shivered, but not because of the cold. "Wanna go smash something?" Fire asked me. I sat up. "Sure," I said. "What do you wanna smash?" He sat up, too. "I want to smash some cars," he said. "Can I flood someplace?" I asked. "I always wanted to do that." He laughed and nodded.
I flew us to town and I dropped him by some cars. He got a fireball in his hands and I said, "I'll be right back." He nodded, throwing it at a silver car. I laughed, flying off to the lake. I made the water follow me and I flew back to where Fire was. Then I got an idea. I swirled my finger, and the water went into a tornado shaped thing. I pushed it at a building. It was a grocery store. Once all the water was in it, I pulled it all back out. Then I made a wind storm go in the store. I laughed as some people ran out screaming. Fire looked up at me in admiration.
I laughed as the police came. I landed and Fire hopped on my back. I flew up easily. "Come down with your hands up. I shrugged. I came down, but once I was on the floor, I thrust my hands up and pushed the officers over with air. Then I drenched them in water. I jumped in the sky again laughing. "Have a nice day, officers!" I called. "Marcie Night, out!" I flew Fire and I away. He was cracking up with laughter, I just had a small smirk on my face. By the time we got back to the cottage it was dark. "Hey, I wanna see if it's on the news!" I said. He laughed and nodded.
We ran into the house and I plopped down on the couch as he turned the news on. I smiled as I saw the inside of the grocery store. It was an absolute wreck. Everything was everywhere. It was all waterlogged, too. I smirked. "It seems former superhero, Jamie Night, has turned to a supervillan! She's changed her name to Marcie Night and seems to be friends with Fire Shooter," a reporter said. "Since she's been run out of town for being a superhero, it seems she's beet taken in as a new villan." Fire turned the TV off and sat next to me on the couch.
"So, Miss Night," he said. "How does it feel wriecking things instead of fixing them?" I smiled. "It feels great!" I said happily. He laughed and ruffled my hair. "I'm hungry," I complained. He chuckled. "Really?" he asked. "Already?" I nodded. "I'm a growing girl," I said. "Growing girls get hungry." He smiled and stood up. "What do you want?" I tapped my chin. "Well, how about I go get us something?" I asked, eyes hopeful. He laughed and nodded.
I said bye to Fire and flew away. I decided it would be better if I didn't go in as Marcie. So I took my mask off. I hid it on top of the building and jumped down. I walked into Burger King with a half-smile on my face. "What would you like?" the cashier asked me. I looked at the menu for a second, then someone screamed, "It's Tammy Poss!" I turned around with a smile on my face. That's when I remembered I left my mask on top of the buliding. I grit my teeth and smacked myself for being so stupid. I didn't even get a suit yet!
I slipped out before Tam got here and ran to Gap. I have some money. I picked out a green shirt-dress and black leggings. I'll have to ask Fire to get me a green mask and a new belt. I paid and thanked the bored-looking worker. I went in an abandoned alley and changed quickly. I liked this new look. I went back to Burger king to see Tam already in there. I clipped my mask on and slipped into Burger King. "Thank God, it's Jamie!" someone called out. I glanced behind me like a wise guy and pointed to me. "Who, me?" I asked. "I'm Marcie, unless you haven't noticed. Tam came up to me and clapped me on the shoulder.
"Ready to do some damage?" she asked loudly. I nodded a sinister smile on my face. Some people got up to get out, but I made a gust of wind slam the doors closed. They stopped, getting scared. Tam made vines crawl up them, holding them in place. "You didn't want me as a hero, how do you like me when I'm a villan?" I said, making water rise out of no where. I made an air bubble go around Tam and I. Tammy made thorny plants at the top of the water so the people couldn't get some air.
Tam and I laughed cynically. "This is funner then doing it by myself!" Tam said. I smiled and let the water go back into the ground.Tam removed the thorns, but made sure they scratched everyone first. I smirked at them. Some had really bad cuts. I saw some bleeding heavily. The Burger King manager came out to yell at us, and I took away his air. "This is so easy," I said. He was choking and clawing at his throat. I giggled and let him have it. Too much actually. He choked on air and we laughed.
Tam made the vines go away from the door and we left. Tam got on some vines and made them grow until they got to her house. It was very cool to watch. I sighed, frowning. No matter how much fun it is, it's wrong. I rhouldn't be doing this. But I can't back out now. I was about to fly up into the air when I heard, "Marcie!" I stopped and flipped around. I bet you can guess who it is.
"What are you doing here?" I asked. He glared at me. "I was in Burger King," he said. That's when I noticed he was drenched and had tiny scratches on his arms and face. I burst out laughing. "Oh, wow," I said. "I didn't even see you!" Dustin glowered. "That's because you were too busy trying to hurt us," he said. I stared at him with a frown on my face. "I get it!" I said. "You're just mad I kissed Fire and not you!" His eyes bulged. Oops. Maybe he didn't know that..
"What?" he squaked. I got a smug smile on my face. "I kissed Fire and not you," I said. He glared at me. "I don't care," he said, but his angry blush said otherwise. "Whatever you say, jealous," I said mockingly. He huffed. "I will get you, Marcie," he said. "And when I do I will know who you really are." That's when I left. "Whatever makes you sleep at night," I said, and stuck my tongue out at him. He shook his head and turned around. I flew back to Fire. Looks like I have a problem. I have to get Dustin off my back.
