The world was such a mysterious place. Sometimes, you couldn't even fathom what new things could exist out there which  the humans didn't understand. You would never have believed that there were mystical creatures living with you. Humans were just blissfully ignorant and oblivious to small details like that.

  Death rates had risen over the years. Murder. Rape. Suicide. People were so used to hearing about it that these words meant almost nothing to anyone anymore. What if these deaths weren't just victims of the crazed, what if these deaths were caused by something else and covered up? You'd never had thought you would be put in a situation where you had to make such a difficult decision. Would you expose the truth of humanity? Or would you protect it with your life for the sake of someone you loved?

  You had met Levi during your World History class in college. In the beginning he was nothing but a mere classmate, but somehow you ended up sitting next to him at one point. Maybe it was just a coincidence, or maybe it was destiny. Nobody knew what it was at this stage.

  As time passed on quickly, you two grew closer. Of course, he was very elusive at times. He would even disappear some days, skipping classes, and making you wonder where on earth he could be. You would never have imagined he was a vampire, I mean who the fuck thinks that?

  You were definitely attracted to him. There was no denying it. Whenever you were around him, you could easily forget the cruel world around you and focus on that one light in your life.

  That day was the most heart pounding moment of your life. Nothing was out of the ordinary, except the fact that Levi seemed different. He was much more sensitive than usual. His eyes darting around nervously ever so frequently. It was like he was afraid of something. Being a naive human, you let it go until it was probably too late.

  That night, you receive a series of poundings to your apartment in the middle of the night. You remember your fear embedding itself into your body as the drowsiness is replaced. When you open the door, a heavy body topples over you. You would have screamed if you hadn't noticed that it was Levi. Levi pulls himself up with a painful groan as he shuts the door before leaning on it and sliding to the ground weakly.

"Levi!!! What the hell happened? Oh god!! You're bleeding!" You gasp as you were on the verge of panicking. He extends his bloody hands and places them firmly on your cheeks, forcing you to look into his eyes.

"You..you need to calm the fuck down alright? They might hear you." He coughs a splash of blood and your heart wrenches.

"Who? Who are you taking about? Levi, you need to tell me the truth." You whisper.

"Dammit...you need to get away from me (Your Name). I can't control my thirst anymore...losing..losing too much blood." He rasps and your eyes widen as you realize what he's saying.

"Are..are you saying you're.." You stutter and Levi just looks at you with eyes of sorrow and guilt.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I couldn't..Fuck.." He winces as he removes his blood-soaked hand from his side.

"Levi? Levi!!" You shake him as he begins to lose himself to the darkness.

  You knew that if you didn't do something, he would die, and you wouldn't be able to live yourself down. You dash to the kitchen and pull out the glistening knife with your shaky hands.  You force yourself to hold it steady as you slash a deep enough gash into your wrist.  You recoil as you bring your lips to your own blood, collecting it with your mouth. You then pull Levi's face closer and administer it to him orally.

  After a few attempts, the color returns to his face and his eyes flutter open. His eyes dart to you and then down to your bloodied wrist and he clicks his tongue in anger as he looks away.

"What the hell were you thinking..you idiot..." He rasps weakly as his eyes search yours for some type of answer.

"I couldn't let you die..I just.." You begin but are interrupted by a warm set of lips overlapping yours.

You'd never have expected your first kiss to go down like this. But you felt your heart swell with relief as you realize that you had saved him from his own cruel curse. You could feel the gratitude and love through the way he cradled your face.

"Levi...you need more blood right?" You breaks away as you slide your t shirt down to reveal your neck and collarbone. You hear his breath hitch as  he takes the sight in. He quickly looks away and breaths heavily as he tries to contain himself.

"Don't...let me do this for you." You whisper as you plead with him.

"I don't want to hurt you...(Your Name).  Especially you. I'm a monster..don't you get it? Why aren't you terrified of me? Why aren't you running away?" For the first time you hear the pain in his voice, but your lips tug up in a small smile as you lean your neck in closer.

"We're all monsters...Levi." You whisper. You shut your eyes as you feel his lips trailing down to the center of your neck.

  You feel the soft prick of his fangs as your vitality is being pulled from you. Your muscles grow weak as he holds you up. Levi's wound clears up and when you open your eyes again, he seemed back to his normal self.  You stumble up to your feet and extend a hand downwards for him to take.

"You're not alone anymore Levi. You have me. Always." You whisper and as he stands with the help of your hand, the dizziness finally kicks in and it was your turn to topple over into his chest.

  He catches you swiftly before wrapping his arms around you tightly.

"Tch...you're one to act tough brat..look at you..passing out all over the place." He murmurs fondly into your hair.
