Hello, it's me
You could hear each drop breaking the surface of the water. It was pleasantly silent for once, but your mind was roaring with thoughts that weren't necessarily positive. In fact, that would be an understatement, your mind was toxic and destructive and there was nothing that could stop you from feeling this way. You don't know how long you were sitting there in the water, and you didn't know how long you were going to stay in there. In fact, maybe it would be forever.
They say that time's supposed to heal ya, but I ain't done much healing
Hello, can you hear me?
I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet
Your eyes were dry as sandpaper, but the tears were endless. Your body and soul were disconnecting from each other, and again, you weren't stopping yourself from the detachment. The waves of guilt and sorrow were eroding at your sanity. The memories were still fresh in your mind. You still remember her/his smile and laughter whenever you cracked a joke. You recalled the moments where you felt safe in his/her presence. You should have treasured that friendship, but instead, you let go.
There's such a difference between us
And a million miles
Hello from the other side
I must've called a thousand times
To tell you I'm sorry for everything that I've done
But when I call you never seem to be home
You slam your fist against the pearl-white tiles beside you and cover your face with your hands. You feel the warm sticky substance run down your knuckles and into the water. Through your tears, you could see the spirals of crimson diffusing into the clear water. Your brain was screaming "pain", but your heart wasn't responding. The pain made you feel alive, but maybe it was also killing you too. Something in your mind clicks and you scramble up to your feet as you stumble out of the tub. You rummage through the cabinet; almost tripping in the process.
Hello from the outside
At least I can say that I've tried
To tell you I'm sorry for breaking your heart
But it don't matter, it clearly doesn't tear you apart
Anymore
How could you have left someone in so much pain? How could you have never noticed that your best friend was dying? It didn't matter that he/she hadn't made it evident, you should have known. Now he/she was gone, and you never got the chance to say sorry. Maybe the funeral broke you. You remember biting down on your lip as you watched them lower him/her down into the earth. Cancer had destroyed your best friend, and now death was destroying you.
Hello, how are you?
It's so typical of me to talk about myself, I'm sorry
I hope that you're well
Did you ever make it out of that town where nothing ever happened?
It's no secret that the both of us
Are running out of time
It felt like your mind and body had gone into autopilot mode. Before you come to a realisation of what you were doing, your wrists were slashed open, and the tub was now concentrated with your blood. You could barely even see through the water now. You clench your mutilated arm as this gesture causes your vital fluid to surface more, dripping with faster frequency. Your breathing was getting shallower and more light as the drowsiness begins to affect you drastically. Your body slides down into the water, and your eyes closer just in time as your head submerges completely.
"(Your Name)?! Oh FUCK! (Your Name)!!" Levi screams your name as he leaps towards the tub. His arms dive into the blood-filled water and pulls his lover up.
Tears were streaming down his face now, as his hands tremble underneath your limp body. He knew that it was already much too late. Life had already left your body, and now, merely a shell remained. Even so, he shook you, in hopes that you would come back to him. He should have realized sooner. He pulls your cold body into his chest as he cradles your head to his neck as the sobs shake his entire core.
He had run out of time.
