Living in a dangerous world surrounded by Titans meant that there was more opportunities to hope and dream for something you all wanted. To some, it may be freedom and to get the chance to live without feeling like livestock. To another, it may be revenge, to exterminate all the titans that were the cause of their loved one's death. However, for you, it was just one simple thing that you were willing to fight for. It may even sound stupid to some, but you wanted to see the ocean before you died. You wanted to know how it felt to lay on grainy sand. You wanted to hear the crash of the waves on the wet shore. You wanted to see the gentle caress of water as it waved good bye to the shore before pulling back for another brutal wave. Sometimes, you felt like the ocean. You all assume that everything was going to work out, but in the end, it all gets sucked up back into the void before sending you all crashing down again. Maybe soon, you'd get to see the ocean.
You never would have thought you'd die like this. With your legs pinned underneath a bone-crushing piece of debris. You could almost feel your legs shatter into unrepairable pieces. The expedition was going so smoothly, yet again, you caught yourself relating the situation to the waves of the ocean. However, this time, it didn't seem like you were going to survive the upcoming wave. Silent tears stream down your face as your heavy head drops down on to the ground weakly. They mix with the droplets of blood and begin to soak your uniform. You could hear the agonizing screams of your comrades dying one by one, but it all fades away as your mind grows with haze. You would have started to try and save yourself from this mess, but you already knew it was too late for you. You cough up globs of coagulated blood as you run your hand along your side, where the previous titan had bitten into.
At that moment, you see something fall from the sky and land with a thud right next to your face. You use all your strength to focus to notice the green jacket with the bloodied Survey Corps badge. You extend your weak hand shakily and turn the body around to almost let out a grotesque scream. You recognized that handkerchief, but the man that it had belonged to was no longer wholesome. Your breath increases rapidly and you feel the rest of your remaining blood pumping through your ears. You had hoped that at least he would make it out alive of this blood fest. You force yourself to close your eyes tightly, until your body finally shows you mercy, and let's you fall into an endless sleep. You take in a shaky breath, which may or may not have been your last.
When you open your eyes again, you are blinded by the brightest light you have seen in your life. As you struggle to adjust, you hear the sounds of laughter and happiness echo around you. This was a total contrast to what you were experiencing just a moment before. Maybe this was all a dream? You blink away the unfamiliarity and turn around to the noise to find yourself feeling the warm breeze that smelt somewhat new and fresh. You take a step forward and look down in surprise. You feel the warm and rough texture of something you had only read about in books.
For that moment, you felt like nothing could get any better. You break into a run towards the sounds of ecstasy and find yourself standing in front of the vast blue ocean. You also see other people having great fun inside the water, and you don't even hesitate to jump straight into the warm and salty water. Just as you were about knee deep in water, you stop in your tracks as you see someone standing right in front of you. Your breath hitches as your heart begins to pound. The familiar silhouette turns around and you break into small sobs as you cover your face with your hands. He seemed so alive. He wore a pearl white shirt that was unbuttoned, and his wet undercut hair was messily thrown about from the wind. You were so happy to see him here with you, but you knew deep down that it meant that he had not made it out alive.
You feel muscular arms wrap around your waist as he pulls your head into his shoulder comfortingly. He begins to stroke your hair softly before cupping your face in his warm hands. He pulls your face up gently and wipes away your tears silently with a small relaxed smile on his face. For once in his life, he seemed free of all burden and pain, and you were so happy to see him like this.
"(Your Name). There is no need to be sad...We're..we're all free now. Mostly, we're finally together in a world with no pain or regret." He speaks soothingly as he runs his thumb along your cheekbone to wipe away your warm tears.
"I missed you (Your Name). Don't ever leave my side.Let's stay here together...forever. Till the end." He hums as he brings his lips closer to yours.
