Jett is a little bit of fictional fun, meaning that yes some of the things that the girls do may seem unrealistic or totally impossible and sometimes things may happen that "totally wouldn't happen in real life" but that's the beauty of fiction.

As always, this story is copyrighted and all the characters and plot belong to me, and me only. You are not authorised to use my characters or copy my story line unless you have received permission from me personally. Theft is a serious offence and can be dealt with in the court of law.

Oh and, unless otherwise stated the chapters are largely unedited, meaning there will be some mistakes. I apologise in advanced but will take care of them when I finish writing the story.

One last thing: Kayden and some of the other characters tend to swear quite a bit and, as mentioned, he does like sex so there may be some mentioning of it throughout the novel, just in case you are uncomfortable with that. But I promise that I don't go into any detail in regards to that stuff.

Okay, now that the serious stuff is out of the way, while reading some of ya'll may be thinking: "Hey Artemis, what's with all the 'because girls don't actually do that' lines that you keep throwing in there? Are you trying to make some sort of point?"

The answer to that is: I guess I just wanted to write a story with some kick ass female leads that don't demean other women. I'm so sick of seeing Wattpad stories where the main character has the potential to be a pretty decent lead, if only they didn't have some superiority complex where they seem to believe that they're better than other girls because they don't wear dresses or any of that stuff.

They go around preaching about female empowerment then try to insult men by calling them 'little girls.' That's not empowerment, that's demeaning and it basically says that if women don't act like men, then they're just dumb bimbos who only think about shopping. I want female leads who are sure of themselves, who are strong but aren't afraid to embrace their feminine sides because being feminine is not a bad thing.

A strong female lead is a well written female, whether she be an army sergeant or a house wife, it doesn't matter. A strong female lead is not just someone who can go around punching things and thinks that it's better to hang out with guys because they're 'less drama' (I mean, have any of them even read a history textbook? All drama, ever, has been started by men). Most of my friends are girls, and sometimes we do talk about clothes and shopping, does that make me a brainless slut? Because, honestly, that's what some Wattpad authors immediately brand females as.

As soon as we get to the schools 'Queen Bee' she's immediately a dumb blonde cheerleader who only cares about her clothes and hair. Now, that stereotype has insulted females who are blonde, athletes and who like to dress themselves up because it makes them feel good about themselves. These stereotypes are so harmful. I had a friend who always got picked on in primary and called stupid because she had blonde hair. I know people who are immediately characterised as dumb because they're athletic. One of my friends always gets criticised for wearing make up. This needs to stop.

"But, Artemis, it's just a story! Like you just said, it's only a bit of fun."

Yeah, it is a bit of fun, but you know what? We can have fun without demeaning feminine women. Or just women in general. Say it with me: "Being a woman is not a bad thing. Being feminine is not a bad thing."

Now I know most of ya'll have probably skipped this, but to those who made it this far, thank you. Hopefully, I haven't deterred you from reading, I promise the whole story isn't just a rant about Wattpad tropes that piss me off. It was just this little section. But for making it this far here's a little teaser: in the first chapter we meet Jett in all her jean clad glory as she punches Kayden so hard he momentarily blacks out. In an act of revenge, Kayden tries to retaliate with pranks but let's just say that trying to get the better of Jett leaves him standing practically buck naked in front of his gym class. All that and more to come in "Jett."

Hopefully ya'll enjoy!

Until next time, stay safe and treat yourselves kindly,

Artemis.
