Have a pretty long update for the super long time it took me to update.

*UNEDITED*

Jazz had once told Kayden that Jett had been fine until he showed up.

Though, that statement wasn't entirely correct.

'I'm sorry, I'm just annoyed, it's not your fault. It's more this place than anything you've done.'

In typical assassin in training fashion she didn't elaborate, though Kayden couldn't help but think that it had something to do with Marlow. He couldn't get her initial reaction out of his head. Not to mention that the drive home from ghost boys apartment was filled with questions about Marlow and Kayden's relation to her. Something wasn't right-

"Are you ready?"

He looked up from where he was struggling with his tie at the sound of Jett's voice and almost forgot how to breathe.

She was casually leaning against the bedroom doorframe, obviously displeased with the whole situation but somehow still managing to look like she was in the middle of a photo shoot. She wore a white dress without a neckline, he didn't know what it was called but the two sides of the dress never fully met giving him a good opportunity to appreciate her cleavage. The skirt of the dress, while not figure hugging, had a long slit up the left side exposing her toned and tanned leg. He hadn't ever seen her reveal so much skin and he sent up a thank you to whatever divine entity made the sight before him possible.

'Probably Jazz...'

"Just give me a minute," he finally breathed out once he realised that he had been staring for too long. He looked back into the bedroom's full length mirror to try and see if he could salvage the mess he had made of his black tie. Though, the knot looked so beyond repair that he just stared hopelessly at it, trying to figure out how exactly he could have done something like that.

He heard Jett let out a sigh from where she was standing before she glided over to him. Though her face remained neutral he could see the twitch of a smile threatening to break out over her lips. Without saying anything she set to work on fixing the tie for him. She was so close that all he could smell was her flowery perfume, light and sweet, an exact contrast to her character. Her heels made it so they were basically the same height, giving him no option but to take in her sharp features, for once not obscured by her thick hair.

Before he knew it, she stepped back and admired her handiwork, giving an approving nod. Without at second glance she turned and made her way out, giving him his second shock of the night. The open back of her dress revealed numerous black patterns of varying line lengths and shapes decorating her toned form. He could see words weaving in and out of the designs in languages he couldn't read. He could even make out some of the images though if he were asked to describe it he wouldn't be able to. It was a work of art and like art he didn't think he had to understand it straight away for him to be able to admire it.

"I didn't know you had a tattoo," the words slipped out before he had known he had said them, causing her to pause just before she left his room.

"Well now you do," she replied teasingly and just when he thought she'd leave she added "oh and you look pretty good in that suit."

He really wished he could say that the words didn't fluster him but he'd be lying.

"Remind me again what why we're getting all dressed up?" Kayden asked as he slouched on the mustard couch.

Jett returned from the kitchen with two glasses of water, placing herself next to him as the pair waited for Jazz and Jinx. "We got a lead," Jett reminded him as she leaned back into the couch, looking exhausted.
