Currently #112 in Action, thank you all so much! :)

It turned out that the groan had been omitted from Max, one of Shanks's cronies.

He was collapsed on the floor just over a metre away from where Kayden and Jett were standing, his chest facing the sky and his breathing quite laboured. There were numerous tears and blood splatters over his previously clean pressed suit and Kayden took a moment to hope that it wasn't a rental.

Jett cocked her head to the side as she looked at him, her eyes narrowed in contemplated of what to do.

"Do you reckon he knows where they could be?" Kayden suggested as Max writhed a little, from where they were standing he could see that a sweat had broken out over his tanned features and his blue eyes seemed slightly glazed over from the pain.

"That's just what I was thinking," Jett muttered before she straightened up and stalked over towards him, her gun poised down at his helpless form. Kayden guessed it was more for intimidation rather than Jett thinking he was an actual threat.

After a moment's hesitation he followed behind her, wincing a little when he saw a patch of blood where Max's stomach should be.

"Where are my friends?" Jett asked coolly as she glared down at him

Despite his obviously pained state Max managed to scrunch his face up in confusion as he dumbly said "who?"

"Jinx and Jazz," Jett snapped as she kicked him hard in the side "you can't miss them, one has bright red hair and will hit on anything that moves and the other looks like a fucking cinnamon bun!"

Out of everything Jett had said in her outburst, Kayden was most surprised by the fact that she had sworn. He couldn't really recall a time when he had heard her curse, he'd heard Jazz and even Jinx on one occasion but Jett's language had remained quite G rated until that moment.

Max gave out a little grunt at her kick before saying "I really don't know who you're talking about."

Jett crouched down to his level, gun resting against his temple, obviously dissatisfied by his response. "Let me put it this way, tell me where they are and I'll let you live." Though she spoke quietly, her tone was so cold that it made Kayden shudder.

Max just let out a hoarse laugh "I'm dead anyway."

"You still have time," Jett reasoned with a shrug, "and you're probably going to have some back up on their way when they realise that you guys are late for whatever exchange you have to do. So, if you tell me what I need to know, I'll give them a chance to find you and save your ass."

Kayden thought it was a pretty fair deal, either way he was probably dead, at least with the latter part he at least had a chance to make it out alive.

Max seemed to come to that conclusion as well because he just let out a long sigh and said "they're down the road, near that donut place, in a pest control van. There's a driver there with instructions to leave at exactly 8:30 if we don't show up with you."

Jett nodded as she took in the details before looking up at Kayden "how long have we got left?"

Kayden checked his watch "nearly 15 minutes."

"Great," Jett stood up, letting her face go blank in the process. She looked down at Max and said "thank you for your cooperation," before lifting her gun.

Max's eyes widened at the weapon but he didn't say anything, almost as if a small part of him knew her offer had been too good to be true.

Kayden, on the other hand, didn't have a problem with expressing his moral outrage. "What are you doing? You said you'd let him go!"
