They brought Mark back to the apartment.

It was something that Jett had been hesitant about at first, considering that it was technically their base of operations, but they didn't really have any other options. So Kayden watched in amusement as Jett quietly sulked the entire drive home. It wasn't anything obvious but her lips were in a slight pout as she concentrated on the road, letting him know that she was less than pleased with the situation.

"Getting him involved was your idea," he reminded her in German, knowing Mark wouldn't understand.

Jett shot him a glare but didn't comment, knowing he was right.

"Uh listen could we keep to English?" Mark piped up hesitantly, "I'd rather not be in the car while the two of you talked dirty in another language."

Kayden laughed and Jett almost smiled at that one. He didn't bother to correct Mark though, knowing that denial only made them seem guiltier.

Instead the three made their way to the apartment in relative silence. Something that Kayden soon appreciated in contrast to the chaos that broke out as soon as they opened the front door.

He and Mark found themselves sitting silently on one of the couches as the girls fluttered around the living room.

Jinx had rushed out of her bedroom at the moment the two had sat down. Her bright blue hair was up in a pigtail on one side and a rumpled mess on the other. She looked as if she had either just gotten out of bed or hadn't gone to sleep in the first place. Kayden could guess which it was, Jinx was their resident insomniac, it'd be a miracle if she got any more than three hours a night. Which made the fact that she was so perky even more astonishing.

One strap of her spaghetti strapped top had slid down her shoulder, the lime green top sporting quite a questionable stain. The same stain reappeared on her short pyjama bottoms. She held a few small electronic devices in her hands, which she cradled tightly to her chest in an attempt to keep them from harm. Which was lucky considering that she almost fell over trying to stop the momentum she had built up when running to Jett.

"I fixed up the cameras we used in Peru, they should be good to go now, is he here—" her rushed words were cut off as her eyes landed on Mark.

She shoved the little cameras into Jett's arms and made her way towards Kayden and Mark.

"Hey there, I'm Jinx, you must be Mark," she stuck her hand out to him with that cheerful grin of hers.

Mark blinked before hesitantly giving her hand a single shake but before he could return her greeting Naziah's voice called out to her from somewhere down the hallway and Jinx was gone without even a glance back at them.

Mark sent Kayden a confused look "she seems... nice?"

Kayden snorted, "well she was certainly nicer to you than she was to me the first time we met." He replied, thinking of the very first words Jinx had said to him.

"Well shit, Jett. It looks like we're actually going to have to kill this one."

"Is Jinx her real name?" Mark asked as he stared down the hallway where she had disappeared.

Kayden shrugged, "I don't know. I don't really ask questions around here, they never get answered anyway."

Mark bit his lip as his gaze wandered to where Jett and Jazz were talking in the kitchen. They stood on opposite sides of the kitchen island, the cameras forgotten in the middle of the table, as rapid fire Spanish passed between them. Jett stood with her arms crossed, looking unfazed as Jazz spoke, gesturing with her hands to emphasise her words. The movements would have been normal had she not been holding a gun in one of those hands.
