Chapter 15: Hunter

Chapter 15: Hunter  

I push Alex behind me as four wolves jump out from the woods on to the beach.   

"Alex back up,"I growl. I hear her feet stumble backwards and I shift into my wolf.   

I growl as the four wolves start spreading out. They are rogues and are not supposed to be on our land.   

*"hello there young alpha... Out for a little swim are we?" The wolf who seemed in charge said.  

*"you have no right being on my territory. Now leave before i make you." I growl.  

*" don't get so touchy we just want the girl." What? Alex? Why her?  

*"why? What is she to you?" I ask. I bite at a wolf getting to close. I back up more towards the lake, pushing Alex backwards. Her feet are in the lake now. I can hear her heartbeat rising and her teeth chattering.  

*"well lets just say she is a problem to our boss."  

*"who's that? "

  *"Mac, enough talking. Can we just kill her already? She smells so good" one wolf said, sniffing the air and then glaring at Alex.  

*"you will not touch her." I growl   

*"No boss wants her alive," Mac turns to me,"boy we have strict orders not to hurt you. Make this easy on us and just hand her over."  

*"never" with that I attack.        

Alex  

Hunter jumps and attacks one of the wolves. I watch in horror as he bites his throat and the wolf falls to the ground, lifeless. He attacks another one, while another wolf jumps on his back and bites him.  

Seeing him in pain makes a sharp stabbing feeling erupt in my stomach. I turn to my right and see a wolf walking towards me. I back up further into the water. It keeps following me, stepping into the water.  

I'm hip deep in lake water and the wolf is still coming. I need to move faster, I need to swim.  

I turn around quickly and dive into the lake. I am under water when I feel a ton of weight fall on my leg. 

  I squirm trying to get my leg out but then it bites. Searing pain runs up my leg and all throughout my body. I scream in pain loosing my breath. Water filling my lungs, as my corner vision starts going black.  

The weight on my leg is gone. I think I'm out of the water, but i don't know. It feels like my eyes are glued shut. Is someone carrying me? What's going on? Where is Hunter?  

I hear a car door slam and an engine start. I try and move but my hands are tied. What's happening?  

I try and pry my eyes open. Everything is fuzzy. I don't see much out the car window since the sun is gone. Where am I going?

I'm faced towards the seats. The fabric isn't soft and smells of cigarettes which make my stomach turn.  

"What the hell Mac?! What about Louis and Frank?" A man says. I try and turn towards the front of the car. But I can't move.  

"They are dead! We should be happy we made it out with her." The other man says, who I guess is Mac.  

"Didn't boss want her dead?"   

"No he wants her alive." Mac says.  

"Why? What's so important about her?"   

"I don't know I don't ask those things." He sighs."Boss will kill us for hurting the boy."

  What? They hurt Hunter? No! I start trying to squirm free, but it's no use.  

"She's awake Mac, what should we do?"  

"We'll be there in a half an hour. When we get there we will have boss decide what to do with her. Now stop talking we don't know what we are suppose to say in front of her."   

I feel tears falling from my eyes. I want Hunter! I want him now!   

I bang my leg in frustration and pain shoots through my leg. What happened? I adjust myself so I can see my left leg. I look down. I have a bandage wrapped around my leg and its stained red. Oh god I'm getting queasy again.  

I look away. I sit there as the car keeps driving to god knows where. I'm so scared, what if I never see Allen again? If I die who will he have? And Gen? And Hunter? What if he's hurt bad? And if I die he will, the bond, he'll go insane.   

"Hunter..." I cry more and more.  

"Mac she is crying."   

"Who gives a shit! ill be happy when she is out of our hair. She's brought us nothing but trouble."   

My eyes shut close and sleep surrounds me. I'm so tired. I need to sleep. I relax as much as I can and finally sleep overcomes my fear. The last thing I hear is the engine stop and my car door opening.
