Chapter 31:Alex  

I glance over at Hunter who is on his back laying on the ground. He picks his head up to look at me. His eyes widen.  

I look down and what should have been my feet, but they weren't there They were paws. White paws.   

I'm a werewolf. I'm a werewolf! I start jumping up and down in excitement. This is so cool!    I stop jumping when I notice Hunter approach me.   

"Alex. Your... Your beautiful." He has the biggest smile on his face. He stands next to me looking so small in comparison. I am probably around 7 feet tall in my wolf.   

I hear the Doc clear his throat breaking Hunter and I from each others eyes.

"I hate to break the moment up but I suggest I examine her, since she was dead less then a minute ago."  What?! I died!

  Hunter noticing my worry and shock comforts me.  

"Shhhhhh Alex it's ok." He turns to Doc, "Would it hurt if I shift?" The Doc gives him a nod and I watch the boy in front of me shift into and enormous wolf.  

He stands taller then me now, closer to 8 feet.  

"Woah! Hunter you were never that big." Hunter and I both look at the doctor. "The gene. You must already be changing from her genes. That's incredible! It took her father a week before he was bigger then his mate! I'll be right back" The doctor runs back into the house. Leaving us alone.  

Alex? Can you hear me?  

What the fuck!  

I hear laughing in my head.  

Alex calm down. It's me hunter I'm using my wolf to communicate with yours  

Oh got ya  

You are beautiful in your wolf.

Hunter moves his head so its in the crook of my neck, nuzzling me.  

Here try this, clear your mind so you can feel your wolf.   

Ok I'll try.  

I do as he says. I breathe in and out thought my nose? Or snout? Is it still considered a nose? Getting side tracked... Clear your mind. Clear your mind. Clear your...  

ALEX!  

Hunter stop screaming I'm right here.  

What are you talking about?  

I hear it again.  

ALEX!   

This time I know exactly who it is. Allen.   

He sounds in trouble. I take a huge breath and concentrate on my wolfy powers... Maybe I can smell him or something.  

Alex? What's going on?  

Before I could answer I got ahold of Allen's scent, pen ink and cologne. I take off in the direction, letting my nose guide me.  

Alex where the hell are you going? I don't think you should be running.  

I heard Allen call me. I think he is in trouble  

Oh, here I have his scent follow me.  

I let him take lead because he has been a wolf longer and probably better then me. Correction he is better then me since I am pushing myself to keep up with him.  

I am running as fast as I was my dreams. Faster then I have ever ran before, and Hunter is still ahead of me. I guess I have to work on running as a wolf.  

The smell is getting stronger. We must be close.  

I try and steady my breathing. For this speed, in human form, I'd be dead. Although in my new wolf form, I'm only panting. Now granted Hunter's breathing is controlled compared to mine, which is all over the place.  

I take a deep breathe in, trying to steady my breathing when I smell the horrible stench of... blood.  

We break the tree line and emerge into a huge open field in the middle of the forest. I stumble when trying to stop from my run. Once I regain my balance, I look up at the horrific site.  

My brother is fighting against two familiar wolves, Mac and Marcus. I look across the field to see a man staring at this unfair fight with pleasure.   

Mr.Lupus.  

He looks towards us.  

"Son, I'm doing this for your own good. NOW!" Out of nowhere another wolf comes and smacks into Hunter, knocking him to the ground. I whimper in seeing him get hurt, but he quickly gets back up and lunges at his attacker.   

While I watch Hunter fight, I fail to notice another wolf stalking me.   

Mr.Lupus. He growls at me and I do the most logical thing I can do. I run.
