Chapter 13: Alex  

Shit.

  I shoot up, away from Hunter who stiffens and sits up.

 "Um hi Allen. What are you doing home?" He never comes home this early it's only 4:00. 

"I got off early from work and thought I'd surprise you. I can see you have company over." He was now looking past me at Hunter. Who is getting up, walking past me with his hand out.  

"Hello I'm sorry I never introduced myself, Hunter Lupus." He had his hand out to shake. Please Allen shake it! Don't be rude!  

Luckily he takes Hunters hand.  

"Nice to meet you Hunter. I'm Allen, Alex's older brother." He seemed overly friendly. Did he approve of Hunter?, "I was going to surprise Alex and take her out for a nice dinner. Would you care to join us?"   

Oh that's why. He plans on embarrassing me at the dinner. Don't say yes Hunter! Don't do it!   

"I would love to," shit," but I really should be getting home." I let out a sigh of relief.  

"That's a shame. We'll have to plan something for the near future. I would live to get to know who is snuggling up to my baby sister in our house, all alone." He gave a fake smile.   

"Will do." Hunter smiled back. He was so chill, it was amazing.  

"Um Allen I left my car and Hunter left his bike at school, can..." He cut me off before I could finish.  

"Oh sure I would be happy to drive you two." He backed up gesturing for us to go through the door.

  I walk out passing both boys. Hunter follows behind me and Allen locks up behind him. I'm not looking forward to this car ride.

  Hunter opens the door for me and I slide into the back seat, Hunter was about to come sit next to me but Allen stopped him.  

"No, Hunter come sit in front with me." I'm going to kill Allen he was attacking so weird. But then again he did just walk in on my and Hunter all cuddle up under a blanket.  

Hunter slides in front and gives me a look in the outside mirrors. I stare back and mouth"I'm sorry"   He gives me a wink as Allen enters the car and starts the engine.  

There was already an awkward silence in the car. I prayed someone would say something or we would put the radio on. My prayers were answered.  

"So Allen, what do you so for a living?" Hunter asks, trying to make conversation.  

"I'm a lawyer, one of the best in my firm." Allen stated proudly.  

"Oh, what firm?" Hunter asked, me taking a sigh of relief.  

"Brown & Cooper LLP" he said proudly. It is one of the best law firm in the area.  

"Oh cool." Hunter said, which started the awkward silence again.         

 We finally go to school after what seemed like forever.  

Hunter got out of the car and opened my door. Such a gentleman. I walk around towards Allen in the drivers seat with Hunter behind me.  

"Be home by 9."  

"Wait what?" I'm so confused I thought he was mad?

  "Go. Have fun. Just be home by 9."Why? You know what I'm not asking why. I jump into the car hugging him through the window. "And at that time I'd like to know why you have a bandage on your nose." 

  "I love you Allen! Ill be back I promise! And it was nothing really, I'm just a ..."   

"Clutz? I know. Ill see you back home." He smiled. Allen turns to Hunter giving him a look and a nod. With that Allen was out of the parking lot and down the road leaving Hunter and I all alone.  

"Come her you." Hunter grabs me pulling me over his shoulder as I scream in protest.  

"Hunter! Let me go!" Laughing he smacks my butt and keeps walking towards his bike.

"Hunter what about my car?"   

"I'll have Chase get it."   

"What? No that's mean. Just drive behind me." He sighs.  

"Fine."   

"Um Hunter?" Still on his shoulder as we near my car.  

"Yes sweetheart?" Answering so innocently.  

"Put me down!" Laughing he lowers me back down, not letting go of me.  

"Your cute when your angry." Hunter was staring at me. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer. He leans in and places his lips on mine.   

"I love you Hunter." I say into his lips. He smiles, which makes me smile.   

"I love you too my little mate." With that he picks me up again over his shoulders and starts running to the woods behind the school.
