Chapter 2: Hunter
I get off my bike and pull my helmet off. I grab my bag and begin walking to the school to start in the middle of the year. My wolf sensed something I looked up at the school entrance and saw a girl and a boy fighting. The girl was beautiful, even from across the parking lot with the sun in my eyes I can see that. She was so perfect.
She looked at me but didn't meet my eyes. Then she ran off into the school. What happened? My wolf could sense the tension. The male she was fighting with was full of anger. He then sharply turned and made his was to a girl on a car. She tried to say something but he gave her one look and she stopped talking.
What I'm wondering is who was that girl?
When I walk through the door I immediately got a whiff of her scent, or what I guessed was her sent. Freshly cut grass and vanilla. Such a weird combination but my wolf was flipping with every breath I took in off it. I followed the scent and stopped when I read the sign GIRLS ROOM in big white letters. I listen for anyone in the school or parking lot. Teachers and students are flooding into the parking lot by bus and car. If I'm going to go in I might as well do it now.
I push the door open and step a couple feet in. I can hear her and smell her salty tears.
"Anyone in here?" I call out. I hear her get up and open the door. Seeing her this close took my breath away. She was about 5 foot 8 and skinny as hell. With curves in all the right places. Her hair looked so smooth and curly I wanted to run my fingers through it. Her eyes were the best part. The lightest shade of brown. But with a rim of chocolate around her iris. She looked at me with the same look I was giving her. We were both in awe of each other.
She started walking towards me but didn't stop in front of me. She walked right to the door and put her hand on the handle. My hand, with a mind of its own apparently, grabbed hers. The second our skin touched it was like fireworks went off inside of me. I was so happy. She glanced at me then walked out.
My mind is going a mile a minute as I walk to my first class. That girl she... She changed me. This is crazy. The guys at the base said meeting your mate was like this but I never thought it be this good. The bell rings and I'm still at my locker. Ill just be late who cares. I open my art class door and a creepy old lady who smells of cigarettes and paint walks up to me.
"Hunter Lupus right?" Her voice was nasally and scratched.
"Yea that's me. Sorry for being late won't happen again." I gave her my "winners" smile as my betas call it because no girl can every resist it.
She blushed "Oh well I'm sure it won't be a problem. Here why don't you sit back there with Alexandra. She'll help you get adjusted."
I glance over at this Alexandra and my wolf starts howling inside when we see who it was. Her.
I make my way towards her desk. I stand in front of her, blocking her light purposely until she looks up at me. Luckily that didn't take long and she nearly fell out of her chair when she saw me. I sat down next to her our eyes connected still. I gave her a wink and a "winner's" smile.
"Hey babe" once I said that she stiffened and looked away. What I do?
I just kept watching her. She went back to drawing like I wasn't even there. A tear falls down her cheek. The moment I moved my arm towards her but she shied away. She then got up went to the teacher and before. I knew it she was out the door. Gone.
