Chapter 33: Alex  

"You ready?" My mate gives my hand a quick squeeze before we emerge from the double doors to meet his pack. I am to be the new Luna, which is super pressuring but exciting.   

My mate pushes the doors open. I am slightly blinded by the bright light coming from the early morning sun breaking through the windows surrounding the walls of the building but then my vision adjusts.   

I look upon the faces of way over a hundred werewolves. All smiling to see me. Well I hope that's why they are smiling. Or maybe they are smiling because I tripped a little as I walked thought the door. Oh I really hope they didn't notice that. That's so embarrassing!  

"Right Alex?" My mate says to me. Without thinking I answer.  

"What?" Everyone starts laughing. Shit now I look stupid.  

"I said how you are excited to be their Luna." Hunter gives me sympathetic smile.  

"Um yea I am." I give a smile to the crowd of people. Hunter continued talking as I stare out into the crowd. Making eye contact with my brother who gives me a huge smile.   

Then he starts pointing and mouthing something to me. I follow his finger to where he was pointing and almost die from overjoy. Gen!  

I scream and sprint over to her, almost knocking her to the ground. I haven't seen her in over a month. With everything that has been going on, covering up Hunter's father's death and him trying to adjust to his new position as Alpha, I didn't get to see her.  

I feel her arms wrap around me. I missed her so much! I squeeze tighter and that's when I feel it... The bump. I release her from the embrace and glance down at her stomach.

 "Your pregnant?" I look back up at her and she has the biggest grin on her face as she nods. Liam comes up behind her, giving her a kiss on the cheek.   

"Your eyes Alex? They are gold." Gen and Liam stare at my eye in shock.  

"Yea it's from my wolf. When I shifted it changed me. They ..."  

"Alex?" I turn back to my mate who is standing in front of the entire pack. My bad.  

"Sorry..." I walk back to him as he ends his speech and the crowd begins vanishing slowly.  

I climb off the podium so I could go talk with Gen and Liam but am stopped. A little girl runs up to me and starts hugging my leg.  

"Oh hello there." I pull her off and crouch down to her level, smiling.  

"Are you really our Luna?" I give her a smile and nod. She starts jumping in happiness.   

"Oh sorry Luna if my daughter is bothering you." A middle-aged woman walks up to us. Grabbing the little girl and picking her up.  

"No it's fine." I give her a smile and she nods in respect, walking towards the door. The little girl turns over mother's shoulder and waves goodbye. I smile and wave back. Too cute.  

"I was just thinking the same thing, but about you." I feel Hunter's arms wrap around my waist from behind.  

"How did you... Oh that's not fair! You know I am having trouble with my mental walls." He starts chuckling, smacking his arm as he turns me to face him. He leans down and places kisses on my lips.  

"Woah! Get a room!" Liam mocks as him  and Gen walk over to us. Hunter and I break our embrace as he starts chasing Liam around the pack house like they are five.  

"Those two idiots are supposed to lead a pack... Oh this will be fun!" Gen says as she watches the boys fight. I laugh.  

"Hey so when's the baby due?" Gen smiles down at her stomach.  

"About 2 months away. Some time around the beginning of school."   

"That's amazing!" Then it hit me. Did Gen ever become a werewolf?  

"Gen... Um are you a werewolf?" Her face hardens slightly.  

"No, I have the heightened senses but that's the extent of it. Although, the Doc said the baby might be one. It's ok though. I'm ok with not being one." She gave Liam a smile from across the room, giving my mate a window to get Liam in a headlock,"I'm just happy I have him."   

"Hey now that things have calmed down, maybe we can all hang out sometime?" She looks at her little wrist watch.  

"How about now? We can all go out for dinner?"  

"Yea that sounds great!"  

"What sounds great?" My mates husky voice breaking into the conversation. Him and Liam are walking back to us.

  "We are all going to dinner. How about the diner?"   

"Yea I like that idea." Liam puts his arm around Gen's neck.  

"Me too." Hunter wraps his arm around my waist and we all walk out the doors.   

As we walk to the car, I start thinking. Maybe Hunter and I will have kids and get married. Maybe move in together...  

I agree. Let's move in together!  

Hey! What I tell you about going through my head without me knowing?  

Do it even though you tell me not to?  

Ugh! You think your so cute don't you?  

I know I am   

Hunter gives me a wink as he continues driving the four of us to the diner. He looks so sexy in his tight T-shirt, all fit and strong. How his muscles move and shift as he turns the steering wheel.  

Liking the view?  

Shit.   

Why u... You can be so frustrating!  

But sexy?  

I never said that. i try and hide a smile. Even though he was being cocky, it was true... i did think he was sexy.  

But you thought it...  

I turn back to face the road. He can be such a ... Oh who am I kidding I love him.  

I love you too Alex  

I giggle a little. He's at it again.  

I love you three   

Forever and ever?  He sneaks glances at me as he continues driving.  

Forever and ever  

I let out a deep sigh and place my head against the window. Letting the sun light absorb into my skin. I love my life.
