On the way to school, Emma and Ruby were talking, like they normally do. When they got to school, everyone was more excited than usual.
"Hey you guys!" Belle said excitedly. "Did you know that we are getting a new student today, and that someone in the 12th grade has to show him around?"
Belle was sort of a nerd. She was a bookworm. She was one of Emma and Ruby's friends, but they weren't super close. She also knew everything there was to know about school, even about new students and when they were to arrive.
"No we didn't. What grade is he coming into?" Ruby asked.
"Our grade. And I think he will be in your home room, Emma," Belle said.
"You're so smart it's actually scary," Emma said with a laugh. Just after she finished her sentence, the secretary called Emma up to the office over the loud speaker. "Well I guess I'm in trouble now."
"What did you do this time?" Ruby asked.
"Oh the usual. See you guys later!" Emma walked up to the high school office and was greeted by the principal and a new face, which she deducted was the new student.
"Ah, Miss Nolan, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Jones. As you might have heard, he is our new student," Mr. Rhodes said.
Emma turned her head and saw the guy standing a few feet away from her. He stuck out his hand and she took it. They shook hands and released.
"Killian Jones," he said.
"Emma Nolan, but you can call me Emma Swan," she replied.
"Well Emma, can you please show Killian around? I have already told your teachers that you will be late to some classes, and anything he needs help with, please offer it," Mr. Rhodes told Emma before walking out of the office.
Killian picked up his schedule and followed Emma out into the abandoned, quiet hallways.
"So the 12th graders use this hallway. All of our classes are here, except for gym and lunch. They are down there," Emma explained and pointed to the hallway that held the gym and cafeteria.
"Do you think you could show me those too?" He asked with one of his eyebrows cocked.
She blushed but quickly turned her head away from him so he wouldn't see. "Sure."
After she showed him all the hallways and twists and turns, the tour was coming to an end. All that was left was to show him where his locker was. When he told her his number, she was shocked that it was in the section of lockers behind hers. After they went to that, the tour of the school was over, and they both had to head back to class.
"So you know where you are going, right?" Emma asked with a little disappointment in her voice.
"Yes, I think I do. Thank you, love," Killian said with a smirk.
She again blushed and again turned her head away from him. After a few seconds of not looking at him, she turned her head around to find him gone. A little upset, Emma grabbed her books and went to English. She took a seat next to Ruby and stared at the teacher, but not listening. A small piece of paper was thrown onto her desk and she looked over at Ruby who had a small smile on her face. Emma opened the note.
'You look smitten.'
She looked up at the teacher who had her attention towards the board, and took out her pencil and replied to the note.
'I am not! Just distracted.'
The note flew back over to her in an instant.
'By that new kid. Killian.'
