At school the next day, Ruby had passed out invitations to the party she was going to have. Apparently everybody was going to go. She had always held parties at the beginning of the school year.

"Emma, you okay?" Ruby asked.

"Yea I'm fine. I got a visit from Neal over the weekend." Emma said. She was still debating whether to tell her that Captain Hook had visited her. She herself couldn't believe it, so why would Ruby?

"Oh my God are you okay?"

"Yea I'm fine. Other than this small cut on my leg-"

"He hurt you?"

"Well no not exactly. He almost stabbed Killian, but he kicked the knife out of Neal's hand and and it flew and grazed my leg."

"Killian hurt you?"

"It wasn't on purpose. I'm fine. We cleaned it out and no I'm okay."

"Okay. Well I'm going to hand out the rest of these invitations. See you at lunch?"

"Absolutely."

Emma went back to getting her books. After she was done, she turned around and Regina was standing there, and she didn't look to happy.

"Well Regina what are you going to yell at me for now?" Emma asked.

"I finally figured it out. Killian is dating you out of pity." Regina stepped closer to her. "You see, I'm not the one hiding secrets. You are, and that's why he is dating you. He feels bad for you. Have you even told him the truth?"

Emma swallowed the lump forming in her throat. "Truth about what?"

"Your past! Have you told him what Neal did to you? Did you tell him why you still wear that swan keychain around your neck?"

"You don't know what he did to me."

"Oh I believe I do. You see, as the school's most popular person, I can get information from just about everyone. I know things, and I know what he did. And I know exactly why you wear that keychain too."

Emma reached up to her neck and touched the keychain. She then stepped to the side of Regina and went to class. At lunch, Emma plopped her tray down across from everyone at the end of the table. Nobody knew why she was distancing herself. Ruby moved over and sat across from her.

"What happened today?" She asked.

Emma dug out her phone and shot Ruby a text. She didn't want to talk about. It was easier to write. She explained what Regina had said to her. Everything from Killian pitying her to knowing her dirty little secret that she kept buried for at least a year. After Emma knew she read it, she spoke up.

"Please don't tell anyone. I'll tell him eventually."

"Emma you have to tell him now."

"No no I can't." Emma said shaking her head violently.

Killian and Robin were at the other end of the table watching the two girls whisper amongst themselves.

"What do you think happened?" Robin whispered.

"I don't know but I'm going to find out." Killian said.

"Just be gentle. You don't know if she could lash out."

"She won't hurt me." Killian stood up and walked over to Emma. As he was sitting down, she waved her hands up and smacked him in the face.

"Killian I'm so sorry." Emma said when she realized that she just hit somebody.

"I stand corrected Robin." Killian said holding his nose. Robin just laughed.

He sat down and put an arm around Emma. "I really am sorry. I didn't mean to." She said.

"It's okay. My nose just hurts a little bit."

Emma leaned up and kissed his nose. "Better?"

"Much. Thank you love."

"I think you should tell him Emma." Ruby said then got up and moved back to her original seat.

"Tell who what?" Killian said.

Emma let out a sigh. "Regina knows what happened to me. I think she is planning to blackmail me."

"She better not. I won't let her." Killian said.

"She also said that you were... Um..." Emma trailed off.

"What what did she say? You can tell me anything love."

"I know and this is what makes it so hard. She said that I should tell you everything about my past, and from what I already told you, you felt bad for me so that's why you're dating me."

"Pity dating? I have never heard of that in my life. And we were already dating when you told me somethings about it. It's okay, you can tell me when you're ready."

"I know but you deserve to know."

"But tell me when you're ready there is no rush."

"Thanks for understanding."

Killian nodded and pulled Emma back with everybody. She barely ate her lunch because she still felt guilty. Guilt was replacing where the hunger should be.

When Emma got home, she got her homework out of her bag and sat down to do it. She did it and plopped down on her bed. She wanted to cry but the tears wouldn't come out. There was no valid reason to cry, but she wanted to. Emma talked to her parents about giving Killian the spare house key, and surprisingly they both said yes, so that meant that Killian would be over after football practice. She decided to take a shower. She let the hot water wash away the guilt and the pain from the day. She felt upset, angry, guilty, and lonely. When she got out, she had a towel wrapped around her and tucked under her arm, and Killian was sitting on her bed watching tv.

"Apologies love." He said and shielded his eyes.

"Oh my God Killian! I didn't know you were here!" She said.

"Yea well practice ran early, and I was to come here." He said. His eyes were still covered.

"Oh that's okay." Emma got dressed in a loose t-shirt and sweatpants. She then threw her hair up in a loose bun. "You can look now."

Killian took his hands off of his eyes. "I really am sorry."

"It's okay. I'm just surprised because usually a guy will sneak a peak."

"Well then I guess I'm different then."

"And it's a good different." Emma went over to him and laid down next to him. "I'm sorry."

Killian muted the tv and looked over at her. "Sorry for what love?"

"Thinking that Regina was right."

"It's okay. If anybody said anything like that to me about you, well I don't know what I'd do."

Emma smiled faintly but it quickly disappeared. He laid his head under hers. "It's okay. I'm not mad."

"I know. I love you."

"And I you."
