"Surely you don't mean that." Killian said.
"No I don't mean if. I'm sorry I don't know what came over me. I just want him out of my life." Emma said.
"I know I do too. He has threatened to rip you from me every chance that he has gotten."
Emma had gotten out of the hospital a few days later. She was able to return to school, but had to be slow and not shoved into a locker. Neal still hadn't shown up either, and it was worrying her. He could have been anywhere, whether it was in the town or not. The cold frosty air bit at Emma's nose on the way to school this morning. 'Why didn't I wear another jacket this morning?' She thought to herself. She brought her arms around to hug herself, when something was draped across her back. She turned her head and Killian was putting one of his leather jackets around her.
"T-Thanks." Emma's teeth chattered.
"You looked cold." He said smugly.
"Yea I was."
He snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. His body was warm, like it didn't even know what cold was. They walked like that until they got to the school. She handed him the leather jacket, but he didn't take it.
"It's your jacket." Emma said.
"Aye but now you've got it when you don't have me." Killian said raising his eyebrows.
"Thanks." Emma put it on one of the hooks in her locker and went to her first class.
It was awkward at first because everybody wanted to know what had happened to her and how she was feeling, but after explaining it, the day was as boring as it could get. Ruby had walked with her to lunch and she sat down next to her. Killian wasn't there.
"Where is Killian?" Emma asked.
"He didn't tell you?" Robin said.
Emma shook her head.
"He signed up for band when you were in the hospital. He is playing the guitar and he's actually really good." Ruby said.
"Oh. I wonder why he would want to keep it a secret from me." Emma said.
"I don't know. Maybe he wanted to surprise you with something." Robin said and Ruby smacked him on his arm.
"You weren't supposed to tell her!" Ruby said.
"Tell me what?" Emma stared at the two. Horror filling upon them.
"Uh I-it's nothing." Robin stuttered.
Emma knew it wasn't nothing but whatever it was, she wanted to know but at the same time she didn't. She walked home by herself because Killian was doing who knows what. And Ruby was working at Granny's. She plopped down on her bed, letting the stress of the day fall to the floor. There was clicking sounds hitting her window, and she knew that someone wanted her attention, but what if it was Neal? She was by herself at home and who knows what he would do. The tapping grew more violent before it stopped all together. Emma blew a sigh of relief until there was a knock on her balcony doors. She slowly got up and peaked out the curtain. Killian stood there with something behind him. She opened the door and let him in.
"I didn't think that it would be this hard to get your attention." Killian said.
"I thought you were Neal at first." Emma said.
"Hey I am not some abuser!" Killian yelled.
"There's no need to yell at me. Forgive me that I am worrying because he hasn't shown up the last few days!"
"We have a quiet moment! Maybe you should take that and enjoy it while you can!"
"Are you saying that I don't have a reason to be scared?"
"I don't know Emma, considering you won't tell me anything!"
"You know I want to but I can't!"
"Why? What was it that he did to you that you can't tell me? I am your boyfriend, I deserve to know!"
"Because maybe some people who have been raped don't want to talk about it." Emma said softly. She grabbed her jacket and her phone and ran to Granny's. Ruby would be there and she needed to talk to her.
Emma ran to Granny's as fast as she could. She knew Killian was following her because she could hear his footsteps behind her, and hear him calling her name.
"Swan please stop. I'm sorry! I shouldn't have over reacted."
She kept running. She didn't want to talk to him.
"Swan cmon please let me explain."
She picked up her speed and eventually lost him. She walked into the diner and went over to Ruby.
"Hey Ems what can I get ya?" Ruby asked.
"A friend." Emma said. Her head was low.
Ruby and Emma walked into the bathroom, and as soon as the door shut, Emma burst into tears.
"What happened?" Ruby asked.
"Killian. We got into a fight." Emma said in between sobs.
"Tell me what happened so I can beat his ass." Usually when Ruby said something like this, Emma would giggle a little, but this time she didn't. This was serious.
Emma explained what happened a few minutes ago, and when she was done Ruby brought her into a hug.
"I think we broke up." Emma mumbled.
"No don't say that. He has something on his mind, and uh..." Ruby trailed off.
Emma stood up. "Thanks but I'm going home."
Ruby nodded and Emma went to the ice cream parlor first. She got a tub of rocky road then walked home. She hadn't seen Killian at all until she opened her bedroom door. He stood up from his sitting position on the bed.
"Emma I'm so sorry. I know that I shouldn't have pushed you to talk about your past like that. I'm sorry that I over reacted like I did when you said that you thought I was Neal. Please forgive me."
Emma had the rocky road ice cream in her hands, along with a spoon. Ice cream always made her feel better. Should she forgive him? Or should she struggle to move on with her life after the breakup of what she thought was true love.
"Emma I don't expect you to forgive me right away, so when you make a decision call me." He gave her lips a peck and left. She crumpled to the floor.
What is she going to do?
