At school the next morning, Regina again came up to Emma before class.
"Did you tell him everything about your past Ms. Swan?" She asked.
"Why would you care? It's mine and his relationship, and you aren't in it. I don't have to do what you say." Emma said.
"I care because he deserves to know what secrets that you are hiding."
"Yes he deserves to know, but I'm not ready to share any of it with him, and he understands that."
"Well you need to suck it up and move on, and if you can't, why don't you get back together with Neal?"
Emma slammed her locker. It was noisy in the hallway, so nobody noticed. "I can't say that I'm surprised that you want me to suffer. What did I even do to you?"
Regina avoided the question. "You tell Killian or I will, in my own way."
"You don't control what happens in my relationship. I will tell him when I'm ready. Not when you are." Emma said then walked away.
At lunch, Emma hadn't told anyone about her encounter with Regina, and she didn't want to so she acted as if nothing happened.
"So what kind of theme would be cool for prom?" Ruby asked.
"Winter wonderland." Robin said.
"Under the sea." Killian said.
"Why are we talking about prom that is at the end of the year? Why don't we talk about the Halloween Bash that is coming up soon." Emma said.
"Good point. You want to help set up and plan?" Ruby asked.
"I just suggested a topic to talk about, I am really not interested in planning it." Emma said.
"Cmon Emma it would be fun." Robin said.
"Yea lets do it together." Killian said.
"I am not going to be responsible for whenever the ninth graders piss themselves." Emma said.
"Please?" Ruby put her hands together.
Emma still wasn't budging, so Robin and Killian did the same. "Please?" They all said in unison.
Emma threw her hands up in the air in defeat. "Fine I'll help you."
Everyone broke out in smiles, and Emma rolled her eyes. They went back to eating and Emma was thinking of a way to get them all back. It had to be either hilarious or scary. She was distracted all day. It wasn't because of her revenge plot anymore, but about Regina's threat. Did she really mean what she said? Of course she did because she hated Emma for some reason. It was always like that. When she got home, her parents were home early.
"Hey you guys. Why are you home so early?" Emma asked.
"Well we got a call from one of your teachers. They said that you weren't listening, and were daydreaming." David said.
"I'm sorry, it's just that I was thinking." Emma said.
"Don't let it happen again young lady." Mary Margaret said.
"Alright I'm sorry. I promise that I won't."
Both her parents nodded and she started going upstairs, but remembered about Ruby's party. "Hey mom, dad can I go to Ruby's party next week?"
"Is it her beginning of the year party?" Mary Margaret asked.
"Yep."
"I don't see why not. I mean if Neal showed up, there would be enough people there so you could get away unnoticed."
"Thanks." Emma said then ran upstairs.
At Ruby's party, there was lights, loud music, people everywhere, and stray cups filled with alcohol. Killian and Emma walked there hand in hand, and showed the security guard their invitations. Ruby, Emma, and Killian all pitched in to hire a security guard to make sure that Neal wouldn't be able to get to Emma if he decided to show up. They walked in and the inside was just as crowded as it was outside, and more noisy.
"Hey, I'll go get us drinks." Killian said.
"Please not too much. I don't want a repeat of what happened last time." Emma said.
"This time I have you. That's the only thing that's different."
"Killian if you get drunk tonight, you will be going home by yourself."
"Fine. I'm allowed a few right?"
"I'm not telling you that you can't have any, I'm telling you that you can't get drunk."
"Alright love." Killian kissed her on the cheek, and went to the bar that was set up in the kitchen.
Emma stood awkwardly waiting for him to come back. Eventually Killian came back with two drinks in his hand.
"For you m'lady." He said.
"Thanks." Emma took the drink from him and stared at it.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"I don't know. I guess that I'm not in the mood for a party."
"Why don't we go dance. Take your mind off of things." Killian grabbed her hand.
Emma groaned. "I don't want to dance."
"Why not?"
"Cause I don't want to."
"Nope. I'm gonna need a valid reason Swan."
"That's valid enough for me."
Killian looked at her intensely.
"Fine! I-I can't."
"Really? You can't dance so that's why you don't want to?"
Emma looked up at him guiltily. Just then a slow song began playing, and she knew he would drag her to the dance floor.
"Cmon, there's only one rule when it comes to dancing. Just pick a partner that knows what he's doing." He set their now empty cups down and took her to the dance floor. Some people were leaning on the wall bouncing there heads gently, and other people were swaying. Some were alone and some were with a partner.
"Killian I'm going to mess up." Emma whined.
"How can you mess up swaying back and forth?" Killian said still dragging her.
"I don't know. I'm just trying to get out of this."
They made it to the dance floor and he put her hands around his neck and put his hands on her waist. "See this isn't so bad."
Emma was going to answer but the music stopped and a light was pointed at Regina.
"Alright everyone listen up! I'm going to tell you a story about someone at this party." Emma instantly knew what she was doing. Regina was going to tell her secret.
Sorry for no updates. I've been busy and I almost broke my leg today. I'm hoping another chapter up later.
