Emma ran to her new home and locked herself there. She stared at her hands. She felt darker, and she liked it. She didn't feel like the vibrant girl she used to be. Was it the constant feeling of being watched? The never ending problems in life? What was making her change? She clenched her fists together and leaned against the door. She put her head in her hands. This wasn't who she was, and who she wasn't going to turn into. The rain's constant pitter patter on the roof and on the window relaxed her. A knock on the door behind her brought her back to reality. She pretended not to be there, but her car was out front, and anyone who knew her knew about her yellow bug. They knocked again but she stayed still.
"Swan, I know you're in there." Killian said.
Emma stayed silent.
"Emma cmon let me in. I'm not going to bite unless you tell me to." The smirk was almost heard as he spoke.
"I know you laughed. Open the door love. Please?"
Reluctantly Emma opened the door for him. He stood there with a small box in his hand and a bouquet of pink roses in his hands. She raised her hands up to her mouth in shock.
"Why?" Was all she could say.
"I know it feels like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. I get it. You have too much stress in your life."
"Killian."
"Open it." He said handing her the small box.
She opened it, and inside was a bracelet that was in the shape of an infinity sign. On the diagonal part it said, "love is forever." He took it out of the small purple box and fastened the bracelet around her wrist. She hugged him when he was done. "It's beautiful! How did you pick it?"
"When I went to the store, it just screamed your name. I knew that you had to have it."
"I love it! Almost as much as I do you, and I'm sorry that I beat your crush up." Emma said.
"My crush? Why would you hurt yourself?" Killian asked confused.
"I didn't. Remember, I beat Milah up."
"You think she is my crush? No Emma. You are my crush, my best friend, and my girlfriend. I could care less about what happens to Milah."
"Really?"
"Yes really."
Emma smiled knowing that he was right and that she should have known that a long time ago. He wasn't going to leave her. Later that night, before she started getting ready for bed, a letter slipped underneath her door. She walked over and picked it up. It had nothing on the envelope, so she opened it.
'You haven't checked up on me after you punched me. I guess that the guilty never check up on their victims or the affected. I hope you have a good night now! Sleep well because well, you are going to need it. -Milah'
Emma sighed and threw the letter on the coffee table before making her way to bed.
She woke up and found herself in her bed. She looked over at the clock. 3:28. It was dark outside and it was still raining. She got up out of bed for a glass of water, and that's when she saw them. Killian and Milah were on her couch making out. She was leaned up against the arm of it, and Killian was on top of her. She started to remove his leather jacket when Emma cleared her throat. They both looked up, but soon moved their gazes back down and continued what they were doing as if Emma wasn't even there.
"Go back to bed Emma." Killian said mocking her name. "We are done because frankly, I don't need you."
Emma jolted awake and sat in her bed sitting straight up. She was afraid to look at the clock. Finally the temptation became too much to bear. She looked over, and the time was 3:28. She soon found her feet walking over to the door of her bedroom. She twisted the knob and walked over to the couch. Empty. She was alone. Her phone buzzed causing her to tear her gaze away from the couch. She had a text from Killian.
'Can't sleep. Are you up?'
'Yes I'm up. Bad dream. Want to come over?'
'Yes and you can tell me about this dream.'
Emma unlocked the door, and went back to her bedroom. No more than ten minutes later, she heard it shut again. Killian walked in the door with a slice of strawberry pie and two forks. She looked up and saw him with it.
"I thought you could use a slice of your favorite pie." He said.
"Thanks." She dug her fork into it and took a bite. Whipped cream spread across her lips, and as she was about to wipe it away, Killian took care of it with a kiss. "Don't ever leave me."
"Of course I won't." He said with a smile before taking a bite of the pie too. "Are you going to tell me about your nightmare?"
Emma explained the dream to him and he just looked at her. By now the piece of pie was gone and they were laying down holding each other.
"Swan, I have a question to ask you." He said.
"What's up?" Emma said.
"Why don't we move in together. If you don't want to, it's okay, but I just thought that it would be easier instead of running back and forth to each other's houses when we stay the night. If it's too soon let me know. We don't have to move in together." Killian rambled.
"Oh boy do I wish my dad was here to scare the shit out of you." Emma said with a laugh. "We have some packing to do tomorrow don't we."
"So is that a yes?" Killian asked excitedly.
Emma slowly brought her lips to his. The kiss was quick. Neither of them wanted to pull away, but Emma did anyway. "Yes. Yes it is."
