We’ve been best friends since the first day we met in Kindergarten and we’ve been best friends since. Even through bullies, high school, and boys we are still best friends.
On our last day of eighth grade together we walked down the hall reminiscing on all of our memories together. It would be the last time we would be walking down the same hallway as classmates. She would be moving on to the private high school and I would be moving on to the public high school.
But we have both graduated from high school and we are still best friends. Sophia moves on to Medical School and I move on to Culinary School. Sophia plans to be a neonatologist and I plan to be a pastry chef. We have big dreams and they will be reached!
We have been in contact through texts, skype, and email. But we are finally seeing each other for the first time in months. We are meeting in New York, just outside of my quaint apartment.
I’m sitting in my apartment staring at old photos of Sophia and I from our younger years. We wore bunny ears in a picture, beautiful dresses in another, and youthful photos of us outside. We are 21 now.
I go downstairs to the small sitting area outside the apartment complex. A taxi pulls up and Soph grabs her things. We hug and she sits across from me. “Omigod! I feel like its been forever!” She says. “I know!” I say. It starts to sprinkle rain a little so Soph and I go up to my apartment.
We are sitting in my living room and she is looking through my books and scrapbooks. “What’s this?” she asks. “Oh that’s just my bucketlist.” I say. She opens the book. Its kind of like a scrapbook each page is a different with a picture of what I want to do. “You know what’s weird. I have a bucketlist scrapbook too!” she says laughing, “and most of the stuff in here is what I would like to do!” she continues.
Then it hits me, we should create a best friend bucketlist. “Soph, I have an idea!” I say. “Ok, What is it?” she asks. “Well, we are both going to college next year and we probably won’t see each other often. I think we should make a best friend bucketlist and do all the things on it!” I say. “That’s an awesome idea!” She says. “First Stop: Sydney, Australia!” I say laughing.
