5 MONTHS LATER

We have about a week or two before we head to Baltimore so we are spending the last week in California with our boyfriends. Josh and I have been dating for about a year and same with Soph and Kell. Josh and Kellan both have rehearsals during the day and they come home around 3. So Soph and I have been staying at Kellan's along with Josh while his house gets renovated. Soph and I are watching movies in Kell’s theater.

“Hey. Soph. Manda. Where are you guys?” Kell asks. “In the theater!” Soph yells. Josh and Kell come in minutes later and sit. We watch Grown Ups. After a while we decide we want to play twister. But not just normal twister, Soph and I want to play messy twister. It’s where you put paint of the colored dots and play that way. We grab twister and washable paint in the variety of colors and head out to Kell’s backyard. We play twister and after a while we give up because we are all covered in paint. But there is extra paint. “What do we do with the extra paint?” Kell asks. Soph and I look at each other. “This!” I yell. I grab some paint and throw it at Josh. It hits him in the chest and splatters on his face. “Oh you are going down!” He says laughing. He grabs paint and throws a handful at me getting me in the back. We are throwing paint at each other when Soph comes up with a genius idea. “I’m gonna get the water balloons and the funnel and we should  throw paint balloons at them.” She whispers. “Ok go. I’ll distract them.” I whisper. Josh and Kell are talking about his hot tube. “Hey, Josh. I’m really thirsty! I really want some smart water!” I say. “Kell do you have smart water?” He asks. “No, but the 7-11 a few blocks away does. I’ll go with you.” He says. “We’ll be back in like 5 minutes.” Josh says kissing my cheek.

Soph runs out with the balloons and the funnel. We start pouring the paint into the balloons and sit them in random places around Kell’s yard. We run out of paint but have plenty of balloons left so we fill the rest with water and hide those too. We clean up the twister board and put it away. Kell and Josh come walking up the driveway. “Here babe, smart water.” He says throwing the bottle at me. As soon it is in the air I grab a balloon and throw it catching the bottle at the same time. The balloon filled with paint hits him the neck and splatters. “Oh my God that was awesome! You went all matrix on the shit!” Kell says with a laugh. By the time Kell finishes his sentence we are having a full on paint war. We are covered head to toe in paint. Josh has blue lips from all the paint thrown at him. Soph has yellow lips, Kell blue lips, and I have red lips. We are laughing at each other. Josh looks like a smurf and Kellan looks a little like Hulk. Josh surprises me when he kisses me and says, “Oh look your lips are purple now.” He says with a wink. I kiss his cheek. I grab my iPhone and take a picture of all of us. We look absolutely ridiculous. I post the picture on Instagram and tweet it. I love the picture and put it as my lock screen. “How are we supposed to get all this paint off with out getting Kell’s house a mess?” Soph asks. Josh grabs a hose and sprays me. “It’s freaking cold!” I scream. At this point we are soaked but we barely have any paint on us anymore. I’m freezing and we are all shivering. We have been in our swim stuff the whole time. Kellan’s backyard looks like a rainbow burst. “Let’s get in the hot tub, it will warm us up.” Kell suggests. We all race to the hot tub. We spend awhile in the hot tub. We get out so Soph and I can tan before the sun goes down.

The sun goes down and we all go in. At this point we are all dry. Then we all race to get in the shower. After we are all clean we eat dinner and talk about what a productive day it has been. At around 9 Josh says he’s got to get up early and heads to his guestroom. Around 10 Kellan goes to bed, which leaves Soph and I awake. We look through photos of today’s events. We look so happy. “Today was a lot of fun!” Soph says. “I know right. I’ve never had a paint war!” I say. “Neither have I, it was awesome!” She says laughing. We talk for a while more before I head to my guest bed after a long fun day.
