Chapter Thirty-Nine

We are in Vegas and Soph, Tiff and I are spending the day together. I'm really glad that Sophia and Tiffany are friends! We spend the day pampering for our party. The party starts at 10pm tonight, New Years Eve, until we are to tired to function. We are getting our nails done. Soph got her nails done with real peacock feathers. Tiffany got hers done with the colors of her dress and I got mine done with real feathers and and ombré look. The day is almost over. It's 9pm and we are getting ready. We are in our dresses and we are having people do our hair. My hair is a fishtail braid with peacock feathers strewn through. Soph's hair is a braided bun with a peacock feather headband. Tiffany's hair is curled with peacock feathers knotted in. We have matching shoes and we are ready for our party. We are most excited for our masks. We spent the day making them perfect. My mask is A royal blue and gold mixture with a crystal heart chart offset with two peacock feathers. Soph's is A gold mask with blue embellishments and a green tint. Green,blue, and peacock feathers along the side offset the vibrant colors. We check each other to make sure we are perfect and we head to the party.

They're are tons of people and I don't know what josh is wearing. Tiff, Soph and I stick together in the massive crowd. We are looking around for our fiancées, being that we are all engaged. We are looking around and I feel someone behind me. "You are the anchor that holds me." I hear a familiar voice say. I turn and see Josh in a suit and peacock tie with a masculine peacock mask. I kiss him. "You look absolutely gorgeous!" He says. I turn to see Soph in Kellans embrace and Tiffany kissing Hunter. Slow music starts playing. "Can I have this dance?" Josh asks. I reply with a smile and we dance. I see Soph with her head on Kellans shoulder and I see Tiffany and Hunter kissing... Again. I lay my head against Josh's chest and listen to the steady best of his heart. The slow song ends but I stay wrapped in his embrace. He picks up my chin and kisses me softly. "I love you so much!" He says. "I love you too!" I say. I hear a familiar voice come over the speakers, Elvis Duran. "The new year is in 5 minutes!" He says. Clarity by Zedd comes on and Soph and I look at each other like 'oh girl this is my song' we all start singing and dancing around like idiots but we don't care. By the time Clarity is done. I'm standing beside Josh holding his hand. "The new year is in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..." Josh grabs my face and kisses me slow and soft but it increases with passion. I feel like the world stopped. I feel sparks, fireworks, butterflies in my stomach. He pulls away and leans his forehead against mine. I smile. "Happy New Year babe!" Josh says. I look over and see Soph and Kellan in a passionate embrace. The next few songs are total dance party songs. We are dancing like fools but having a blast. Most of the people have left. But I'm pretty sure I got a picture with every guest. The only people left are Soph, Kell, Tiff, Hunter, Josh and I! We play music until the sun comes up. We danced, drank, hugged, kissed. A perfect night! I had my best friends with me and my amazing fiancé, the new year couldn't have started better!

We head to our room which I'm sharing with the girls. None of us can sleep the night was just to exciting! The sun had risen and we are talking about how amazing the ball was. We are sitting around the room humming songs, looking through the pictures, the tweets about it. I flip on E! "Well, we were all speculating what Amanda, Sophia and Tiffany were doing at the dress shop. Now we know that Amanda and Josh hosted a New Years Masquerade Ball. A lot of celebrities were invited and Amanda and her girls looked very gorgeous in peacock ball gowns. These girls no how to dress for a party!" We laugh. I'm laying on the couch and Tiff is sprawled out on the floor and Soph lies on the bed. We are all dead tired and before we know it we pass out.

I wake up when I hear Josh. "Good afternoon babe!" Josh says kissing me cheek. I laugh. I see Tiffany hugging a pillow and Sophia practically falling off the bed. "I'll meet you downstairs for dinner." I say kissing him. He leaves the room and I grab a pillow. I slam the pillow into Tiffany's back and she yelps. Feathers fall in her hair. "I think we should get Soph!" Tiff suggests. I nod. We grab a pillow and we hit her. She jumps up with her arms spread like a ninja. "Ninja Sophia?" I joke. "Feathers... Really Amanda? Really?" Soph jokes. We look at each other and remember something for 7th and 8th grade and burst into laughter. We are laughing so hard we are crying and we tell Tiff why and she's dying of laughter too. We are lying on the floor with feathers in our hair and tears streaming down our face. "Shit, I was supposed to meet josh!" I say. I get dressed and head downstairs. Tiff and Soph follow behind to see there fiancées.

Josh greets me with a kiss and a cup of coffee. "Why is there a feather in your hair?" I hear Kellan ask Soph. "Must've been the feather pillow." Soph says. Tiff and I laugh. We all head to dinner, then we are heading home. After we eat dinner we start to head home, but Kellan surprises with a limo. "Let's drive home in style!" He says laughing. We get in the limo to go home. Josh kisses me and holds me tight. Soph is sitting across from me wrapped in Kellan's embrace. Tiff and Hunter are staring into each others eyes. "Let's okay truth or dare!" I say.

"Amanda, truth or dare?" Soph asks. "Truth." I say. "Why am I one of your best friends?" She asks. "Because you are the most trustworthy, loving, amazing, best friend a girl could ask for. I've know you for almost our whole life and I feel like I never tell you that I love you. I'm so lucky to have you as a best friend." I say. I look at her and see her putting her head onto Kellans chest and I hear her crying. She looks at me. "What you asked for truth!" I say. "I love you sooooo much!" She says. She hugs me and we continue with truth or dare on our way home from Vegas. We had the perfect New Year's Day!
