I decided to take a walk around the house, just to see if they had any cool extra rooms. I was somewhere on the second floor and opened a door. The first thing I noticed was that it was really cold. The heater must not reach this place as well. I held out my hand to make a small fire. It warmed the room up a bit, but only in my section. I love this power.

The room was white along all of the walls, ceiling, and floor. There was a bookshelf to the left filled with paint and paintbrushes. There was only one source of light in the room, that being a bright, white panel of light in the middle of the ceiling, but it illuminated the room well. I wondered, "If this room has so many paintbrushes and paint, where are the easels?"

Then it came to me. OH. I get it now. Your supposed to paint on the walls. That's cool.

I immediately set to work. I decided to make a golden lion. It's fur was detailed, each stroke of the bronze or gold paint along my paint brush, which helped complete it's perfection. The whites of it's eyes I decided to make a pale blue, like mine. I don't know why, but the white's of my eyes have always been a pale blue. That helped make my plain brown eyes a bit more interesting.

Back to the lion. It had black around the outside of where the color would be, and it's eyes I decided I would give a touch of creativity. On the rim of the pupil it was red, then slowly blended into orange, then gold, then green, then blue, and finally violet. It was amazing. A rainbow of sorts behind the glassy gaze.

I set to work on the most important part, the mane. I decided to make the mane out of fire, no not literally, I just decided to make it LOOK that way. That way anyone could tell I made it. The flames went downwards, as in the direction of a fire ball spiraling downward. The end of the tail had the flames flickering upward. The flames themselves were in the same pattern as the hypnotizing eyes. Starting as red in the center and ending as purple around the edges. It blurred and blended into the pattern of the rainbow through out. The entire lion I decided to give an aura, that being a pale grey, do differentiate from the bright wall, and to make the lion stand out more. It faded into the background against the lion.

I only had a few drops of paint on me, which I didn't care about. I heard someone clap very slowly, startling me. That made me jump in surprise. I turned to see Marcus sitting in the corner, clapping his hands. His icy blue eyes met mine as . . .what seemed to be . . . snow flakes scurrying from his hands each time he clapped.

"How long were you here?" I asked. "Since you arrived," he replied. "I didn't know you were an artist, that's pretty good . . ." he said. His eyes were cold and un-moving, but  I swore I saw some form of curiosity. "Urm, yeah, I just don't do it as often because I want to focus a little more on music. Plus, I'm not all that good," I answered. He nodded as I sat beside him, marveling at my work. We sat there in silence.

"Hey can I ask you something?" I asked staring at his tan features. "You already are," he said, wearing a cold, blank expression still gazing at my mural. Wow, you're a ray of sunshine, aren't ya biscuit? "Alright, well what was it like for you when you got your . . . highlights?"

He looked back at me, and seemed to be studying my features as well. He reached his hand up to my cheek and wiped something with his thumb. My cheeks were glowing in warmth in contrast to his cold hands. For a "cold" guy he was getting awfully comfortable.

"Erm, you had paint on your cheek," he said showing the paint on his fingers. Oh, alright. "Anyways, answering your question. I've been told I'm a 'cold' guy before, so it didn't surprise me when I found out my power was ice. But it was strange. I woke up in the middle of the night and felt extremely cold. I got up in the dark when all of the sudden there was a bright, blue neon light at my feet. It circled upwards around me, like a snake, but faster. All the sudden there was a bright blue light, so bright I had to close my eyes until it seemed to fade away. The neon light that was encircling me earlier started to make me rise above the ground, to levitate. Bright snowflakes started bursting out of my hands, and I couldn't control anything going on around me. I was in such shock I couldn't even scream. Suddenly it dropped me. And I fell to my knees in front of my mirror. I felt something growing on my head, bursting forth like weeds. It settled into my hair . . .and everything was dark, quiet again. I stood up, my knees wobbly from lack of strength. Suddenly the palm of my hand started glowing in a bright blur light and created something. It made a giant, skinny icicle that seemed to glow from within."

I stared at him, waiting for him to continue. Will it be that way for all of us?

"I saw in the mirror, me. But instead of my hazel eyes it showed bright blue ones. And it seemed I grew new highlights like these. Right here." He pointed to the top of his head. "Once I saw what everything was the icicle burst into a bunch of snowflakes. And I fainted, later woke up, and just went to breakfast." His eyes seemed to glaze over from the memory.

"Marcus I-" I started. Then I heard a scream from downstairs. Footsteps seemed to approach the door. The door slammed open to reveal Tyler, with a panicked expression on his face.

"You guy's you gotta come down RIGHT NOW! Zoey just- Is that a rainbow fire lion?"
