I walked to the dining room, everyone having a conversation. Carlyn was talking to Marcus, and Zoey and Tyler were whispering 'I love you's' and 'Te amos' into each other's ears.
Knock it off love birds.
*barfs*
Anyways I sat down as we all sat down to enjoy our meal. I decided to sit between Bailey and Jason.
"Do you guys ever think about the fact we literally have millions of dollars here in the mansion?" Chase asked. I remembered when we went on that shopping trip and bought tons of stuff.
"Yeah! We like, never have to worry about money do we?" Bailey laughed.
"Hey, let's play a game! The sentence game!" Tyler suggested. We all stared at him. "What's that?" Marcus asked with a bored tone. "Basically, everyone says one sentence and it all forms a story!" Tyler says. Everyone murmurs an agreement as we decide to play.
"Let's go clockwise, I'll start. Once there was a young boy named Kirby," I stated. Don't ask why I picked Kirby.
Jason went next, "Kirby was very, very sick and had a strange disease." Seriously? Alright, let's go with that.
Stacie was next, "Kirby's condition was so rare that no doctor could cure him."
Chase continued, "He would go to one after the other, but it couldn't be fixed."
Zoey said, "His family did all they could but the situation was so confusing!"
Tyler stated, "They had no idea what to do, so they avoided him." Wow, that's a bit dark.
Marcus went next, "Kirby became very sad, and tried to hide this disease."
Still going in the dark route?
Carlyn continues, "He tried so hard to hide it, but one day a girl noticed the disease."
Richard stood up. Oh no, he's going to-"The disease was that he had a penis on his forehead."
What. Just, WHYYY?
Bailey stood up next, "Normally he would put on sunglasses and no one would know, but the girl bumped into him and his glasses fell off, causing his penis forehead to suddenly be visible."
I was next, but I just looked up to them with my mouth in a thin line giving them a 'what the fuck' look. Like, how do sunglasses cover up a penis forehead?
I sighed and continued the game. I guess we're going this route. "He was so embarrassed, but the girl decided to help him."
Jason was next, but I could tell from the wide grin on his face he was going to go along the Richard/Bailey route. "By giving him a blowjob."
I face palmed. Boys will be boys.
The rest of the game we were continuing the story of Kirby The UniDick.
It was fun and we went to be after the story was done.
After I got into my pajamas I snuggled into my comforter, satisfied with how the day ended.
Of course, the day didn't end like that.
I saw a flash of light in my room, so bright I could sense it with my eyes closed.
Quickly I sprung up in the dark and crafted a small ball of light, holding it in my hand to see a better look at the intruder.
Spencer.
"Spencer?! What are you DOING here?" I whisper-shouted.
"Emera, there's no time! I need to get you out of here!" he frantically said, grabbing me by the shoulders. I dropped the light orb as it stuck to the ground, illuminating his features.
"Why? What's happening at the lab?" I asked him.
"Dr. Pristine, she's against all of this! She's trying to sabotage the experiment, the simulator, everything! She had a team of moles in the system, her and some other undercover scientists. That's why there have been so many glitches!" he whispered.
"Glitches? What glitches?" I demanded. Dr. Pristine? Wait . . . the therapist lady!
"Why some of your powers haven't expanded yet! She minimized the limit for all of you! Stacie was supposed to be able to rewind, freeze, fast-forward, and control time! Jason was supposed to be able to control anyone with a single thought! Carlyn is just now being able to send messages to other people through telepathy! Marcus was supposed to be able to make the temperature freezing within seconds! Tyler was supposed to be able to teleport other people with him! Zoey should have tornado's and storms bend at her will already! Chase somehow was able to reach his full limit by hearing everything a mile away and running as fast as the flash." He started pacing around the room, ruffling his hair.
Spencer continued, "You're supposed to be able to set your entire body on fire, unharmed, and set fire to anything with just a flick of the wrist! And set an illusion to all senses and around the place, not just yourself!"
"So just limitations smaller than usual?" I asked.
"No, no. That's not all. It's also why the book popped up in your library when it wasn't supposed to be there! That's how Stacie found it! She's also the one who made all of your periods jump out 5x worse than usual when it wasn't even supposed to appear! And then I learned she tried to get into your head the day you ran into me crying, she was trying to just mind-fuck you, Emera! And you almost let her! And it's why you guys have been having a slow process lately. Pristine has been secretly glitching these things out, and we haven't even found out all of the things she's tampered with! She's planning to take this whole simulator down, and she's on the other team!" he said.
"Wait, what another team? Spence explain!" I begged him. Spencer only shook his head.
"There's another team that wants you guys really badly. They plan to use you guys, possibly even harm you. We- I can't let that happen," he growled to himself. Spencer's hair seemed to be a mess.
"Wait, why aren't you taking everyone else? Why are you just popping up here now? What about the others? We haven't even finished getting our highlights yet!" I said.
"I'm not supposed to be here, I just came to get you out. I don't want the risk of losing you, Emera can't you see? The others are bound to pull me out soon enough when they find out I came. They are all gathering up in case Pristine comes to take you guys but I'm not confident you will be safe! Emera, come with me. We can run away together, from all of this!" Spencer pleaded.
I stared at him in shock. He held out his hand, his eyes darting to ask if I would accept it.
I lowered my eyes and held his hand . . .
