Talia came up running as fast as she could. Her platinum blond pigtails were bouncing with each leap.

"What did you do?! Where's Molly?!!" she demanded.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Spencer and Stacie were packing up with me in our dorm.

"What happened? I just found the door to my dorm was broken, the dorm in shambles, some random blue umbrella, and no Molly in my room! She was upset about something you did, where is she?!" she demanded again, her eyes narrow.

My eyes went wide as I made eye contact with Spencer and Stacie.

"SPENCER! Get the others here, NOW! Meet at the Stone's and Miller's dorm!" I said. I and Stacie rushed out and ran to the dorm.

There were scratches and cuts everywhere, it looked as if one of Zoey's tornadoes had destroyed the place. Books were flung and right in the center of it was Jason's umbrella.

"No . . ." my voice cracked, my hand covering my mouth.

The others raced here.

"It can't be . . ." Chase said.

"What? What happened?!" Talia asked.

"Jason and Molly were kidnapped, that's what," Carlyn said.

"WHAT?! How do you know that?!" Talia asked her.

"There's obviously been a struggle, scratched from Jason's sword no doubt. Plus, he would never have left his sword here. It's obvious both he and Molly were taken," Carlyn studied the scratches.

"I should've never let him come here to apologize! If only Molly listened!" I cursed. I kneeled next to the umbrella, carefully picking it up.

There was a silent pause before we all said one word: "Pristine."

I growled, "I'M GOING TO KILL HER!"

"Woah, woah! How are we going to find her? It's not like she'll be like 'Oh, girl I've been trying to kill! Why don't I just invite you to my place for tea? Crumpets too!" Richard said.

"Spencer! You must have some sort of lead!" I pleaded.

Spencer stammered a bit, "W-we only have one lead, but I know Dr. Jackson gained more information while I was here. I'll call her."

"Dr. Jackson? Like Principal Jackson?" Talia asked.

"She's the principal's wife," Marcus explained.

"She's-?" Talia was interrupted.

"A lesbo? Hell yeah!" Richard finished.

"What's going on? Did someone try to kill Emera? Who's Pristine?" Talia asked.

"It's best you don't get involved, enough damage has been done already," Marcus snarled.

"We're leaving tonight, we need to save Jason!" I commanded. "Pack the rest of your things."

"I'll get the vans as I call Dr. Jackson," Spencer said, dialing on his phone.

"Wait, what about Molly?!" Talia asked frantically.

"We'll get her, too," Marcus growled. "We'll make sure to."

"I want to come with you!" Talia blurted.

We stopped and looked at her. "No," Bailey said, her straight face on. "It's dangerous enough as it is, we've caused enough trouble."

"I don't care! I have to help save her!" Talia yelled.

"It's best if you stay away from us, girl," Tyler said.

"I can help! I-I can supply money! My dad owns a business! Let me come!" she protested.

"We've got plenty of money, and we wouldn't bear to put someone else in trouble," Zoey apologized.

"No! Don't talk to me like a little kid! I need to save Molly!" Talia growled.

"Unacceptable, the risks are too dangerous," Stacie said.

"We'll help her, Talia, we promise," Chase promised her.

"If you don't let me, I'll tell everyone all of the things about you! This room, this Spencer guy, the scrapbook photos! I'll tell Hannah and Cole and everyone else!" Talia threatened.

The others looked at each other nervously, unsure what to say.

Tears were escaping from my eyes, as I gripped on tighter to the blue umbrella. Oh Jason, my poor Jason.

Talia lost someone -she doesn't know what's happening to her best friend. She lost someone, and her heart was breaking with worry and dread. And here we were -denying her the chance to rescue her friend. If someone did the same to me about Jason I'd be pissed too.

"Be back here in half an hour with your things packed -just one box. Pack lightly and be back within 30 minutes or we leave with or without you," I said.

Talia looked at me with disbelief, before scrambling around the room to pack.

I walked out, clutching the umbrella in my left hand, and stomping to my dorm to finish packing. The others followed me, but none dared question my decision or argue.

I finished packing and dressed in a skull T-shirt, ripped dark jeans, black combat boots, and my hair in a tight ponytail. I put on the red cape and lifted the hood up over my head, and put the knife in the loop of my belt. It glinted with the jewels and the glowing silver blade.

Everyone else came into my dorm, dressed and their weapons out and in the open. Each had one box. Talia came up, dressed in jeans and T-shirt.

Spencer came in, "Dr. J sent me coordinates to their best lead. It's littered with Daemones though, so it's going to be very, very dangerous. and I'm not sure any of you are ready to fight even one of them."

"Oh, Spencer, Spencer, Spencer. What little faith you have in us. We'll be able to fight demon wannabes, a piece of cake! Then waltz in, get the nerd and Jason, kill Pristine WAM BAM! and leave!" Richard said.

Spencer shook his head, "I fought with two knives and this is what they did to me."

Spencer started lifting up his shirt. "Woah, man! I know I said your name three times in a row but that doesn't mean you have to start undressing already!" Richard laughed. His laughter died down when he saw a nasty blue/black gash across his side.

"Their nails hold some sort of venom- and there's no way to capture them without getting killed to study them. And they evaporate to smoke once you kill them. You have no idea what you're up against, and where Pristine is it's swarmed with things that can do this," he pointed back to the gash,

It was long, black and blue. It traveled midrib to his waist. I touched it tenderly, "What happened? How did you cure yourself and destroy it?"

"They attacked and I picked up a gun from the weaponry room. They can't be killed by guns, somehow. It just passes right through them. I slashed a few when one slashed down my waist. It was venomous and burned like hell. This wound is starting to heal, though -believe me, it was much worse before. I almost died, but the remaining scientists helped cure me before it could get too far into my blood stream. We have a cure -but not much of it. Apparently the plant it comes from is rare, so it's hard getting it." Spencer told me.

"Anyways, there's going to be two of those high-tech high-end trailers for us to stay in as we make the journey. Each one has 6 beds, bunker types. It should do as we head on the journey. Pristine's place is in Texas. The trailer should be here by now, special delivery," he said.

"Alright, since it's late already let's get out. No one will see us," I said.

And with that, we headed off.
