[ sorry it's been so long! for my readers who can't remember what happened: Ariel kissed Aladdin, and now they're dealing with the awkward repercussions. She's also learned that Eric didn't initiate the kiss with Mara- Eric is still madly in love with Ariel. We left off with Eric kissing Ariel, who is now going back to Maleficent's palace to defeat the Big Three with a secret weapon... Okay! That's all! :) ]

Chapter Thirty One

I was all set and ready to go, my long hair slicked back in a pony tail, a basket of baked goods in my hand, and a carefully hidden dagger slipped within the folds of my dress. I sat next to Aurora on the floating carpet, my legs tucked under my body as we awaited for Aladdin.

"So when are you going to tell me about the... you know." I gnawed on the bottom of my lip, referring to the mysterious secret weapon that Aurora had brought up during breakfast earlier.

She looked at me through her lashes, and put a slender finger to her lips, pointing up at the sky with her other hand. Understanding the gesture, I nodded, nervous to go up, but also excited to learn a new secret.

"So you ready to bring down Ursula?" Aurora dropped her hands in her lap, her composure suddenly casual as she asked. I nodded fervently, a big smile on my face as I imagined punching that awful sea witch in the face for, well, the third time.

"Oh yes I am!" I laughed, pushing up my sleeves. "I was born ready to take down that sea slug!" Aurora's eyes widened ever so slightly at my 'brash' ways, but she couldn't help but laugh along with me.

"I gotta say, I've never been more excited to see Maleficent." She shook her head, smiling. "It's about time I took her down." I nodded in agreement, about to say something else when Aladdin walked out of the palace.

He looked much more refreshed, although dark circles still hugged the bottom of his eyes. He hopped onto the carpet, staying as far away from me as possible. That kind of stung, but I understood why he was doing what he was. He just couldn't risk having feelings for me. I would have to deal with our fates- as much as it hurt to say, we weren't meant for each other.

"Have you told Ariel about the plan?" Aladdin asked Aurora as he began to set up the carpet, flattening the edges and tightening certain strands.

Aurora shook her head, and gave the same gesture to him as she had given me. He nodded in understanding, patting the carpet once before managing a small smile. "We have everything we need?" There was brief moment of silence before he grabbed hold of the tassels, ready to steer. "All right then. Hold on to your hats." And we shot up into the pale blue sky.

The weather was pleasantly warm, an unusual thing considering the dire circumstances we were in. "So what's the secret weapon?" I asked after what I thought was an appropriate time, scooting closer to Aurora. She paused, looking around us as if Maleficent would pop up from behind a cloud in all her evil glory.

"Well, it's kind of obvious," she admitted sheepishly, playing with her hair. "True love." her voice had dropped to a whisper, barely audible above the whistling wind. I rose a brow, a bit skeptical. I wasn't quite sure how love could take down the combined power of our foes.

"I know what you're thinking! I didn't get it either! But Jasmine explained- she knew. How, I don't know, but I trust her." I listened carefully, hanging on to her every word. Aurora drew out a strange looking stone from her pocket, holding it in the palms of her hand. "This will save the world."

"A rock?"

"Yes! Well, its only a rock right now."

"And Jasmine gave that to you?"
